About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
I accidentally wandered across these unusual photos from the Timberlane’s thoughts blog. I’ve never seen a Civil Defense FC. Maybe someone out there knows more about it? I *think* this is in California, based on the front license plate. I have lightened all four shots. You can see the originals in the original post at the website.
“1942 Ford Jeep (Willys), sb400, automatic, 4″ lift, 35″ Tires, Very fast, Very Cool looking Jeep. Starts, runs, carb needs to be rebuilt. Selling for a friend who had to leave the state for work. I have very little negotiation ability with the price, but he will entertain all offers. Could be several hours or overnight before he gets back to me on an offer. Please no calls after 8PM. Call Mitch at 505-385-0944.”
“Original classic. 6 volt Jeep Overland Company 2X4 pickup truck. Runs great and has had a lot of work done to it over the years keeping it original. The tires are new however they are cracked and need to be replaced. There is very little cancer (only on the door bottom and very little). The floor pan is whole and the doors have not been sprung. Has a heater and the smallest windshield wipers you have ever seen. New brakes and engine rebuilt a few years back. The interior is in really good shape. Drive a classic home for $2700 and run it for another 50 years.”
There have been a variety of upgrades. Might not be a bad price.
“This is an original Willy’s Jeep. It is a 1959 CJ5, and with the exception of the original body, Jeep has been modified throughout:
-1970 Buick 350 V8 Motor
-Dana 30 Front End
-Dana 44 Rear End rebuilt within last year
-Dana 20 Transfer Case
-Chevy 4-Speed Transmission with 1st Granny Gear
-Rancho 2.5 inch Suspension lift
-32 inch Tires with 80% tread left
-Brand new Warn locking hubs within last year
-New Radiator and water pump within last year
-New Batter, alternator and starter within last 1.5 years
-New Ignition coil within last 6 months
-Dual fuel tanks
-3 Custom steel storage boxes
Jeep is rough around the edges, but starts and runs great. Idles very smooth, and motor is very responsive. With all of the modifications, this is one of the best running Jeeps you will find. It is a perfect hunting rig or 4-wheeler. Being a 1959, no smog is necessary for registration. Registration is current. 4 seat belts.
Only interested in cash sale. No trades please. Call with questions. Andy – 916-919-4746. ”
“Got this Willy’s jeep from my brother several years ago with the dream of rebuilding it…… Well, wife says my time is up.
It was running right before I got it, just smoked a little so my brother took the engine out to rebuild it and that’s where this project has been for some time now. Engine is sitting inside the cab, tranny and driveline are still in. Everything seems to be original. Hate to see one of my dreams go, but reality seems to be taking over. Will dig the title out and find out if it is a 3a or 3b and what model year. $1200obo come take a look!”
“1946 CJ2-A Willys Jeep… runs good, has original engine and ALL parts; I put an aftermarket carb on it and a reproduction fuel pump – however I have BOTH of the original pieces that can be re-worked and I’m sure they would work (I cleaned them both but just couldn’t get it to run with them).
New suspension all around, original military spec rims and good rubber.
Have a new shop manual as well – plus lots of odds and ends parts.
I have an extra fly wheel, extra front differential with hubs, extra steering wheel and neck assembly.”
“1969 Jeep CJ-5, body is pretty rough but solid.
$1200obo. also interested in trades/partial trades possibly for motorcycle, atv, ?? just let me know waht you’ve got
the Jeep’s motor and transmission work great. drives great. can not start it for you though. i had taken it mostly apart and drained and flushed out the radiator etc.
just put it back together to sell.
PROS: good strong V6 motor and th350/th400 transmission, 1 ton axle in rear end, heavy duty rear bumper, 95% tire tread, everything works.
CONS: it is a project so it needs cosmetic work and paint, needs to be cleaned up a bit, front bumper is a little bent (easily fixed or brand new one is $80), automatic shifter needs to be either
replaced or just adjusted/fixed, carburetor needs to be cleaned out because it has been sitting for 6+ months.
NEW PARTS: air cleaner, breather, spark plugs and wires, battery, seats, seat brackets, fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel lines, front lights and casings, brake cylinder and some of the brake lines, battery wires,
and i think the brakes were rebuilt but can’t remember.
best way to contact me is to TEXT ME (816-500-6729) but you can call me also i just probably won’t be able to answer because i’m working 6 days a week so leave your name and number and i’ll call you back.
i have more pictures so if you want to see them just let me know”
(06/16/2010) This has a good looking half cab It appears to have the wood slats on the hood — I think I’ve now seen several of these with wood slats in Montana. I’m not sure why that is.
