UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
This looks like a good foundation, but plenty of work left.
“1952 JEEP WILLYS. This is a great project. It comes with a new body. The motor has been painted but not re-built. The cover has been pulled off the transmission and there are no broken gears. The tires are in excellent shape. There is a new exhaust. There are some missing parts. This is a good start on a restoration project. Please feel free to email me with questions. This vehicle is “Sold As Is.” Due to this vehicle being advertised locally, I may end this auction at anytime.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $950.
No title. Looks a bit rough.
“cj2a jeep 1946 willys needs motor and trans rebuilt.have no title sold with bill of sale only this jeep is not in running condition it will need to be rebuilt.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $450
(05/21/2009) It appears this body sports an early CJ-2A body with a VIN number of 11891 (though the seller believes it to be a 1947 body). At the very least, it’s got the driver side cutouts to validate the VIN number. It’s hard to tell what else is original.
“This jeep was a project vehicle for our prop building studio. It was intended to be used in parades, promotional pictures, and promotional videos as a Cobra runabout. We got this far, before we just didn’t have the spare cash or time to pour into it any longer. Serial Number appears to be 11891. The plate is still in place on the dash, but is pretty weathered, so the last digit may be off. You can judge for yourself, as I have added a pic of the Serial # plate…..”
UPDATE: Price bumped to $2999
(07/21/2010) This comes with plenty of rope!

Just a couple photos tonight from the Canadian Archives that show some stencilers at work.
1) Unidentified soldier stencilling numbers on the hood of a jeep, England, 21 December 1943.
UPDATE: Sold very quickly …. Listed at $2800
Rare doesn’t adequately describe this unusual find. This sure looks like a MT Tug rear based on what I can see in Mark Askew’s Rare WW2 Jeep Book. I’m not sure what category to put this in, other than unusual!
“For sale 1943 Willys Truck 3/4 Ton 6×6 chassis Model MT-TUG. Only 15 of these vehicles were built for the US Army in 1943. I have the rear half of one of these vehicles which has the tandem rear drive axles, frame, suspension, front axles and a modified transfer case.”
