This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, you think you have a GPW, but you have no idea where to find that F script?
You are in luck! Ren Bernier has posted numerous images of how the F-script appears across all kinds of parts. This is the first that I have run across a collection of F-script images so extensive. It’s a great resource to bookmark. He also has a variety of images from MB restorations as well.

It appears a bit dirty, but this might be a pretty solid flattie.
“This Willys Jeep is in excellent condition for its age. Absoultely no rust on this jeep. The jeep has a small block 327 with a four bolt main. The strongest engine you will find. It has a 2″ suspenison lift and a 3″ body that were installed this past summer. The tires are pro comp X-terrians that measure 33×12.5. The rims are powder coated black and have no more than 500 miles on the tires. The jeep was painted this last summer when the lift was installed. It has a full custom roll cage and a new cb and antenna. The 12,000lbs. mile marker winch may or may not be inlcuded in the sale,depends on the negioated price. Many new summit parts. This jeep will climb with any toyota out there.”

These are both running jeeps, with the CJ-2A’s motor recently having been rebuilt. If I only had a two jeep trailer … hmmm.

A brand new adapter will run around $450 (here’s one for $479). I suspect these are hard to find used.

I don’t know what these are worth, but you don’t see these everyday.

“’42 GPW. Utah desert recovered. Nice restoration. 5K in new/OS parts, new canvas seats, top. Does have locking front hubs for ease. New tires, generator, 6 volt system. Starts and runs great. Inop; emergency brake, speedo (new cable, possibly loose?), gas gauge (no sender in tank). Call or e-mail for addit pics, or questions.”

“I have a 57′ titled as a 58 Forward Control 4×4 Willy’s is decent shape, not perfect by any means but reliable with a good tune up… ‘WLDWLLY’ (plate) has been sitting in my barn since 2001 when I went to seminary in Oklahoma. Just before graduation I had a massive stroke and severely paralyzed my left side. I was hoping that my arm and leg would get better and I’d be able to do something with the Jeep in the future but so far this hasn’t panned out….”

With the driver side indents and the lack of tailgate, this certainly looks like an MB/GPW to me. Note the phone number is missing a digit.
“nice jeep …runs ok…have done some basic work on it…used it for deer season last year and now we are moving….got to much stuff has original straight 4 cylinder ….has 4 new bi-directional military tires,new battery,new plugs, cap,rotor and points new coil and 12 volt head lights….12 volt conversion with altenator… call 559-816-960.”
