UPDATE: I have discovered a theme. There’s an Ad from Los Angeles Craigslist and an Ad from Orange County Craigslist to go along with the original San Diego Ad I show posted at the bottom. I’ve put them all together, as a suspect the seller is the same for each, and I think I’ve got a bigger picture now ….
San Diego Ad –> Title = Willys Jeep …………………. Ad Text = “non op”
Long Beach Ad –> Title = o]]]]]]]]]o ’46 willys ……. Ad Text = “bring your truck, lots of parts I need to clear out.”
Orange County Ad –> Title = ’46 willys ………………. Ad Text = “you put it together”
So, the seller has a non op 1946 willys cj-2a that’s in many parts. The seller expects you to put it together. The seller suggests you bring a truck. I suggest you offer the seller very little cash for all the effort you will expend putting humpty dumpty back together again.

My original post is below:
This Ad which comes from of San Diego is for a “Willys Jeep”. The text of the ad, in its entirety, is “non op”. There’s no pictures, no year, no model. Maybe it’s a deal? Maybe it’s a waste of time? It made me laugh …
“1947 CJ2A. 400chev V8,t-90 trans.twin stick transfer,4Wdisc brakes,dual tanks,Best Top with doors,new tires and wheels…runs excellent..body good,new drive lines and spring assemblys.consider part trade??? mostly cash.”
UPDATE: this nice flattie is still available.
The Chevy 181 appears to be a 3.0 Liter Marine engine, which is likely a nice 4cyl for the jeep. This jeep is likely worth a closer look.
“1951 Willys Flatfender Jeep in great shape. Chevy 181 4 cylinder engine with a synchronized 3 speed transmission and split- stick transfer case. New 12.50 x 33 swampers with 410 gears and locker. 9,000 lb. Warn winch. $4200 (Best offer). For more information, please call (253) 208-6515 or (253) 884-8057”
The Husky Overdrives are very rare. Here are some overdrive links.
“For sale: T90 Transmission, Dana 18 Transfer Case, & Husky overdrive out of a 1962 Willy’s Jeep CJ5. Comes with a bell housing and adaptor for a small block Chevy if you want it. All worked when pulled a couple of years ago. Dana 18 overdrives are hard to come by. Husky copied Warns overdrive until Warn sued them and they had to stop. They are supposed to be just as good as the Warn unit.
There are a TON of great pictures of this Surrey. I don’t think I’ve seen this Surrey listed previously, but I might have missed it; it looks like no expense was spared in it’s restoration.
“Purchaced by Wayne Davis because his wife liked the way it looked, this Gala-Surrey was purchaced at a small Jeep dealer in Cleveland, Texas, a full restoration began with an unlimited budget. The car was brought back to its original color scheme of pink and white as no detail was overlooked. The end result revealed a car ready for any show. Contact Jose at 281 497 1000 with questions about this Jeep”
Here’s a great price on an imperfect stainless windshield.
“Willys JEEP 3B HIHOOD WINDSHIELD FRAME IN GOOD SHAPE NEEDS TO BE CLEANED UP AND NEW UNDER GASKET WIPER MOTORS DO WORK COULD USE NEW BLADES.THIS IS ALL STAINLESS WINDSHIELD FRAME I THINK IT IS A REPO NOT A WILLYS.$350.00 O.B.O”
The rust doesn’t look all that bad. This might be a decent price for it.
“This is a 1957 jeep fc 150. its all original but has some things missing and a little rust. things missing that i noticed are the distributar and speedometer. the passenger door is damage but could be fixed by a body guy, some rust but will be surface only and could all be taken off when sandblasted, nothing that bad, i would suggest removing the bed and cab to go through it, these trucks are very easy to pull apart. its got the original engine and was running about ten years ago. most of the parts are willy’s jeep and can be bought still through local dealers. the seats are there and there’s a few extra heads in the bed. i noticed a bunch of spare parts in the bed, i will get an inventory soon. call me if your interested, ill try to answer any questions, erik, 916-218-9187, $ is negotiable and i will deliver it!!…”
This seller is open to trades, including ex-wives — not exactly sure how that works …
“I have a 1944 Willy’s MB Jeep, AS you can tell from the photo it’s been sitting for a while. It was in great running order when I parked it so it would take some TLC to fire it up again. Great Project . MADE IN AMERICA ! Also have an EXTRA MOTOR, 2 fenders, front grill, hood, hood has a hole cut in it though. So i will be accepting any offers and or trades, other vehicles , skilled labor, landscaping, ex wives, etc. Let me know.”
“Here is a 1945 Jeep willys MB, it has a 327cu motor runs fine with a 4spd trans, 1976 CJ axles, 33″ tires, needs slave cylinder for clutch. it is a great four wheeler, stump puller, or ranch mule, will smoke all four tires any time, we have never got it stuck.”
