About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Based on the pics from craigslist and eBay, this is an MB body and grille. I would hazard a guess that the rest of this is an MB as well.
“i have a 46 willys jeep it has a corvette 283 hi low transfer case i was going to rebild it but i lost my job have to move cant take it with me have all part for some one to bild it make me a good offer or a good trade . call me no email thanks”
It appears this CJ-3B has not tailgate. I’m not sure if that’s a customization or not. I have not heard of CJ-3Bs that have no tailgates. The body looks pretty rough.
“1958 Willys jeep CJ3B. Needs a new Body. It has lock out hubs, Superlift suspension and 32″ Coopers. It runs with an auxillary fuel tank and needs a carb rebuild. Engine is nice and quiet, transmission shifts good, 4×4 works. I was using it in the woods untill a front brakeline broke. Good candidate for restoration, or a woods beater with a little TLC beforehand. Email – cpc69@aol.com. Phone – 860-455-1013”
The back of this jeep appears to be solid. I can’t tell for sure. It also appears this jeep has a full floating rear end. Obviously, the body has been modified a bit.
It looks pretty stock, has no engine and sports a column shift.
“Im cleaning out the barns for the spring, here is a 1956 Willys DJ-3A. Has the column shift, with factory hard top, and sliding doors. No Engine, has transmission, and all correct column shift parts. Body is in decent shape with some surface rust, and a little on the floors. Call Brandon at 412-818-9570 or email me….lets talk. Engine that is in pics does not come with, it is an incorrect engine.”
“i have a 1947 willys jeep in good shape, no rust on body or inside just bit under. has brand new engine with 40 miles on it and new transmission with 300 miles on it. front disc brakes, lockers front and back. with lockable hubs all four tires so you can tow it nice and easy and choose what tire you want to spin. im intrested in a bumper trailer or toyota motorhome.”
“THIS 1973 cj 5 JEEP WAS RECENTLY PAINTED AND FITTED WITH A NEW FUEL TANK BETWEEN THE FRAME RAILS. IT HAS A CUSTOM ROLL CAGE, BACK SEAT AND SPARE TIRE CARRIER. IT HAS NEW SEATS WITH 6 POINT HARNESSES FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGER. IT IS A NEW AUTOMATIC TURBO 400 TRANSMISSION AND TWIN STICK NP 205 TRANFPER CASE. IT HAS NEW BILSTINE RESOVOIR SHOCKS. HAS FLAT FENDERS, NICE FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS AND ROCK SLIDERS. THE DRIVE SHAFTS ARE SOMEWHAT NEW. IT HAS DANA 44’S FRONT AND BACK WITH DETROIT LOCKERS AND 589 GEARS, THE JEEP HAS BEEN STRETCHED AND THE TUB MOVED BACK FOR A TALLER GUY LIKE MYSELF. ALSO I HAD CROSS OVER STEERING ADDED A WHILE AGO….”
UPDATE: Now on eBay. Many more pics and very detailed description — if only all sellers were so precise!
This jeep looks fantastic, but I am surprised someone would do all this work and not replace the 41 rear end with a Dana 44. Note that this is the original tub, but the tailgate has been carefully removed.
“1949 Willys CJ-2A Jeep which has been mildly customized and modified for off-road and everyday usage around town. This Jeep has been professionally done with attention to detail and function, incorporating many modern upgrades yet still keeping the period CJ-2A look. Although this Jeep has the look and capabilities for serious off-roading it has never been driven on anything but hard surfaced highways. It has been re-powered with a Chevrolet 283 small block backed by Muncie 4-speed transmission and goes like a bat-out-of-hell, but has plenty of low-end torque for any situation.”
ummm … all original? This must have been purchased with the woody option?
“THIS JEEP IS A 1960 WILLYS ALL ORIGINAL cj3b model with a F134 4cyl. engine 3spd. manual trans. 4×4 all original hardware starter has been rebuilt body will need to be replaced if you want or can be fixed. History of this vehicle is that i bought it off a army vet. i was going to rebuild it but i did not have the time. but i would like to sell it to a person that will want to restore it to its original condition.”
A reader sent me the following question. He’s in the process of doing work on both :
“What is the best way to stop leaks in a transfer case and t-90 transmision? Do you have a any tips?”
My answer was the following:
I have found the most success using liquid gasket and following the directions (as I remember them) …
1. Clean the parts carefully
2. Put on the liquid gasket and put it on with bolts finger tight
3. Wait 24 hours
4. Tighten to spec.
Anyone have additional thoughts, tricks or alternative ideas?
There’s a knock in the engine, but otherwise this might be a pretty good jeep. The pics aren’t great, but it looks like there have been suspension and frame upgrades.
“beautiful willys the only thing is is that it has a knock in the motor and have not started it in over a yeear and a half but a awesome jeep have a full soft top and doors and a bikini top but no half doors looking for a nice boat for the lake this summer/nice fishing boat/old car /nice road bike or crotch rocket/nice jet ski or two / or let me know what ya got”
