About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
This ad March 05, 1949, ad in the Beatrice times (Beatrice, Nebraska) from M. O. Trindel, and authorized Jeep Sales and Service provider underscores his enthusiasm for the Willys 1949 line-up of vehicles. His argument that Willys-Overland’s lack of innovation (models didn’t change yearly) was a competitive differentiator that I hadn’t considered, but this meant there was much internal innovation. I would argue that instead of Willys-Overland and Willys Motors innovating internally, they left the innovations to the special equipment folks, from tops and hubs to winches and other pto equipment.
Blaine shared this build that combined a CJ-5 and a GMC bed was featured a few years ago on Autowrecking.com. It was a product of necessity; he builder had an old CJ-5 and needed a truck.
“Vintage 1940’s Era Pressed Steel Willys Jeep, Metal Wheels. Condition is “Used”. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. Couldn’t find the makers mark it may have deteriorated over time, I am not an expert on steel pressed toys it looks like it was modeled after the Louis Marx Pressed steel jeeps but it is 6.5″ long and i have been told that Marx Jeeps were 11″ long. The steering wheel is missing and the pop-up window is missing”
“I’m a firefighter and it’s time to sell my “fleet”. The fire trucks have been sold but this 1947 Willys is a solid runner. Top and bottom of original engine has been rebuilt. New radiator installed last September. Has Warn hubs and like new Toyo tires. In addition to four wheel drive the overdrive allows you to drive comfortably at 50-55 mph, Tow bar will be included. Emergency lights have been removed.”
This CJ-3A includes a rear PTO and gearbox. The body and front clip look in exceptional shape. It looks like the PTO bar has been cut down a little? It also looks like there is/was some kind of nest in front of the radiator?
“”BARN FIND!”

Bill spotted this truck. It’s not clear if it was a service station truck, but a vintage “ROAD SERVICE” label has been painted on the hood. It’s listed as a 1962, but lacks the “hockey stick” trim.
“I’m thinking of letting go of a vehicle dear to my heart. I’ve owned this girl for about ten years and have brought it back to very presentable condition. Three speed manual, no power steering or power brakes. All glass clean. Crank windows work and the heater is remarkably effective. New tires, wheels, brakes, muffler, fuel pump, carburetor and fuel tank. Cab corners were becoming thin so I had them replaced using metal. No bon-do anywhere. She is equipped with four wheel drive which I had repaired. She runs like a sewing machine.
Plow available but I have never had it on. I doubt if the hydraulic pump works although it’s all there.
Truck is domiciled in Pennsylvania presently. It would make the trip back to this area although I would take back roads to hold the speed down. She will do 50. This vehicle is for rides around town, short trips and shows. Thumbs up and flashing headlights from admirers, you will get used to. Odometer reads 19xxxmiles. Cab has fresh flat black paint on it. I left ROAD SERVICE on the hood because I wanted the vehicle to look like a farm or garage truck. Interior is not restored although it is completely serviceable.”
“1951 CJ3A Motor

$1500.00
Excellent condition. 61,839.9 miles. Garage kept. Starts right up. Runs smooth. Does not smoke. Video of the engine running taken on 1/2/21 available upon request. If you are interested I will also include the carburetor, starter, fuel pump, radiator, new two piece front exhaust pipe and tail pipe. (Unfortunately the new muffler fell off the trailer somewhere along the way home)”
“1949 Willys jeep hard top. No tittle, was left in my garage. Will need gone through. Started and ran on starting fluid. Has the 4 cylinder go devil engine. Looks like interior is all up in the loft and is included. Tires are shot, can deliver for the right price”
