Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. STORY BEHIND THIS LITTLE JEEPMy buddy is the second owner of the Willys, it’s been in his family since 1967. His dad bought her from a neighbors wife after the original owner passed away. Most of the modifications were done in the 60’s, she’s all original steel and been kept in that 60’s style. The springs and shocks have been upgraded and motor was rebuilt about 5 years ago, the 5k miles is original to the motor and the speedo reflects it. The paint looks very good, there is a few scratches where your feet drag getting in. The body seams were all welded properly, not just covered up and there has never been any body rust. The most off road she’s seen is Deer Hunting, so mainly Forrest type roads and never been wrecked. It’s a great little rig that would make a cool daily driver or weekender.”

(11/06/2011) The rear loop of the roll cage is unusual.
“I am selling my 1951 jeep willys cj. Runs great, drive it at least once a week. Upgraded engine to chevy el camino engine. Plenty of power to turn the 33 inch mud tires. Windshield folds downs on top of hood, no doors, lights work good. Having a baby and must sell ASAP. Please only serious inquires, write me through link. GM 350 turbo 350 auto trans. runs strong great cruiser. hardly driven still a little dusty in the photo’s. also has the soft top, doors, and spare tire mount on the rear. cleans up and shows great ust needs to be driven. $10000 OBO 805-814-0003 (will trade for boat) no junk.”

(01/03/2011) Some old desert dogs support this old jeep. The spare body looks good and the rollcage looks nice, except for the funky bends of the front loop near the dash.

“custom fabricated 6 point roll cage for flat fender willys/ford jeeps that would include mb, gpw, m38, cj2, etc. perfect fit and includes 2 new racing bucket seats, full width rear view mirror, twin offroad lamps prewired through frame and a cooler/ cupholder/ armrest (not shown) that settles perfectly between console rails. weighs approx. 150-175 lbs, everything moves as one unit and can be installed or removed by 2 people”
Those are the first ‘skull pedals’ I’ve seen.
“1948 CJ2A Willys Jeep this is one of the if not the best CJ2A Willys out there! This is a frame off restoration with a powder coated frame, new wire harness and fuse box, new Willys overland body and fenders (steel). AND new axle seals front and back, new fuel, brake and gas lines, new gas tank and fuel pump. New brakes, master cylinder, wheel cylinders and seals, new gauges (gas, volts, oil, water and speedo). The rims and tires are new but also the original thin military tires and rims (4) go with this awesome Willys! Then we have a rebuilt motor with new radiator, hoses, thermostat and fan shroud, the carb,starter and the electrical system is up graded to 12volts. The exhaust is new the emergency brake system is new springs and shocks. The undercoating was done by Willys overland (Rino lined) oh yea inside and under the body. This Willys runs and drives like new just remember 45MPH is the top speed and it has a 3 speed transmission. One last thing it has a custom built roll cage. If you would like to see it run I will video it and email that video to you.”
