1954 M-38A1 Provo, Ut $3000

• CATEGORIES: M-38A1 • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

The Utah Bureau spotted this interesting find.  It appears the seller has had to drop the price from the original $4500.  It looks like it sports an aftermarket dash.  The seller indicates it has been driven little and there’s some ‘project’ involved, however it sure looks good on the outside!  It also has on overdrive.

“Rock Crawler – ’54 military jeep with V8 conversion.  307 Chevy with 327 steel crank and forged flat pistons, 487 heads.  Warn all range over-drive, 538 gears, dual Flow Master exhaust.  Full roll cage, 4 point harness – 33” tires.  Interior has been redone.  Runs strong but hasn’t been drives for years. A good “project” Jeep. Call Jack @ 617-697-5745″

UPDATE: Was on eBay. **SOLD**

“It’s time sell this beauty and pass it on to the next owner.  I’ve had this for three years and need to part with it.  Getting married and need some cash for the honeymoon.  (Yeah – roll your eyes, it’s OK)  This jeep turn heads and receives compliments all the time.  I’ve had a lot of work done to it over the years. New tires with 300 miles on them.  New starter, alternator, carburator, radiator (aluminum), stainless steel firewall (Very nice) and tons of little extras to make it sharp. Engine: 65-67 Buick Special V6 225. Common after market jeep engine.  (So I’m told)  Rebuilt in December 2008 with 145 miles on the rebuild.  (It’s hard to drive a jeep in the rain in Oregon)  The company that rebuilt the engine went out of business in January 2009 (Auto Link – Gresham, OR).  It has two areas where it drips oil.  One – Head gasket needs to be replaced.  Two – plug behind engine….”

1946 CJ-2A Guilford, IN **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A • TAGS: , , , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.

This has some interesting features.  The wide rimmed fiberglass body with no tailgate is unusual.  I’ve only seen the wide rimmed fiberglass bodys with tailgates.  The exhaust feature is something I haven’t seen either.  It appears to allow the drive to automatically switch between a direct header versus a muffler.  My concern with this jeep is the roll cage attached to the rear wheel wells instead of the frame.

1946 Willys Jeep for sale. Great condition. Runs great. 2 Wheel Drive. Chevy 350 small block built by Hines Race Engines in Cleves, OH.  Automatic transmission, fiberglass body. Dual Flowmaster exhaust with electric exhaust cut-outs. New windshield, Daytona tires are like new. Edlebrock carburetor.  Moroso valve covers and air filter. 373 rear end.  Five point racing harness in the driver’s seat.  Some very small chips in the paint which are shown in the pictures.  I have pictures, drawings, and receipts from the build.  Mileage on title lists 75,000 but actual mileage is unknown.  Light weight and fast.”

1948 CJ-3A Randy Lawson’s Build

• CATEGORIES: Builds • TAGS: , , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

This article about Randy Lawson’s build appeared in the 1994 Off-Road Magazine.  It took Randy 15 years to redo his CJ-3A.  Unfortunately, I don’t have a before picture.  Some of the details not mentioned in the short article on this page include the following:

  • Randy has added a second little window below the wipers on the windshield.  I assume this is custom as I’ve never seen it before.
  • Randy changed the look of the cowl on the engine side by placing a chromed or polished plate across it.  It makes it look very clean.
  • It appears Randy padded the dash (you can see this here and here ).
  • The Jeep may be registered as a CJ-3A, but the cutouts on the passenger side suggest an M38.

1964 CJ-3B Indio, Ca

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3B • TAGS: , , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Was listed at $10,000

I like the day-glo color and the safari window.  Though slightly impractical, the dash is installed nicely.  Plenty of details to like about this jeep.  This may be a bit much to pay for a drive train without much updated (perhaps it’s rebuilt?).

“This 1964 Kaiser 3B is a “High Hood” with a very clean Chevy 350. We have updated the dash with new gauges and wire. It is still four wheel drive with little mods to gearing. This jeep has always been garaged and well maintained. The windshield it very rare due the the “Safari” style windows. We have a set of rear paddle tires (Sand Tires Unlimited) with rims. Still have the original soft top and soft doors.”
