About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
(12/07/2017) I wonder how the plates on the front bumper are used.
“This 1948 Willys Jeep has a clean title. I actually have the original title. It has only had two owners. It has the original 4 cylinder engine. It does need new points and plugs. It also needs the brakes replaced. The new brakes come with it, but do need installed. We are open to fair offers.”
It’s a project. I thought at first the hardtop was a Porter & Reed model, but the curved rear of the roof isn’t standard for that model, unless this is some later version that we don’t have documented.
“Rough but a good starting point. No drivetrain. No title but will do a bill of sale, bonded title should be easy on this. Comes with aluminum hardtop and steel doors with glass…..”
(12/04/2017) The serial number suggests this is a 1965. It looks to have a Kelly hardtop with Meyer doors?
“I just bought this at an auction last week without a title. It has been sitting a long time. Plate says 1971. Don’t know much about these old jeeps. Please try to figure out model/year etc. from firewall tag. I do not know. The engine seems seized. The floors are rotted & patched but frame & body mounts look very good. The plow set up is bolted on the frame & looks good too. The blade is rotted above cutting blade (but still useable). I have the rear tire chains too. I don’t want to part this out, but I will if it doesn’t sell soon. Just looking for something to plow around my lot. I do not want to have to rebuild the engine.”
“A full frame off restoration. Just needs the finishing touches, such as, wiring turn signals and horn, reupholstery, and decals, etc. No rust, jeep has a solid steel body that is mostly all original. 5 New tires and rims. Custom fabricated floor, extended space for for driver seat. Rare 70 30 bench seat. Rare all steel Kelly Hardtop. New full exhaust. All new wiring harnesses. Runs and drives like a Willys jeep.”
(11/28/2017) Craig shared this one. The Koenig hardtop looks in fine shape. It has been converted to 4WD.
“Willys Jeep DJ-2a with unique hardtop with sliding doors. Converted to 4wd at some point in the past. 4 cylinder motor and 3 speed manual. This vehicle ran when parked but currently has wiring issues and will not start. Clean NC title in hand.”
It’s a fairly rare top that appears in good condition.
“Full cab with removable doors. Aluminum in good condition for it’s age, not dented or trashed out. The door windows both cracked but are still complete.”
“1961 Jeep willys, all original with original hard top and PTO. No rust other than lite surface rust. Also includes working snow plow. Jeep runs and plow works. Great for restoration since body is 100% solid and original or work horse for plowing. More pic upon request. This is also the CJ5 jeep body style so it can be lifted and modified ass a Jeep CJ5”
Looks like it might have a Warn winch on the front. The hardtop looks to be a Kelly standard 200 series.
“Willy’s mail jeep with snowplow. It ran until we parked it several years ago. 4 cylinder classic ready for a new home and a restoration project. All original parts I’m also throwing in a 1959 Willy’s jeep for parts with very low miles. 1400.00 OBO. I would also trade for a 5 by 8 trailer or slightly bigger and some cash.”
(12/04/2017) Ted’s selling this CJ-5. I estimate it to be around mid 1968, but that’s just a guess based on the serial number.
“For sale late sixties CJ5 Auburn Jeep A Trench . Starts, runs good and drives , clutch feels good , no brakes . Body’s kinda rough but frame looks pretty good . Havent had a chance to go over it well to check everything but seems to be pretty complete , missing one of the augers. PTO engages and shaft spins . Not very familiar with these units so will try my best to answer any questions. Looks complete enough to restore or get going and use as is, or would be a great parts donor for another Auburn Trencher unit. Front counter weight there ,as is the creeper gear , pto assembly, Fhead Governor , overload springs ( Canfields or Koenigs ?) etc”
Chris spotted this refurbed CJ-5. It has a fiberglass tub and tilt front clip and a Kelly top in good condition.
