About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
This appears to be a CJ-2A chassis with an MB body.
“Very good condition. Good running condition. Has a canvas top to go along with the Jeep. Also, has a military Bantam trailer that is available as well. Asking $8000 for the Jeep. Trailer is negotiable.”
“I am offering up for sale my 1949 Willys CJ-3A Jeep. I have owned this Jeep since 1995 after searching for years for a solid flat-fender. It was originally a Fire Jeep from New Jersey where it was used for fighting brush fires. It had always been garaged and was rust free. It has 48,000 original miles. When I acquired it, the owner had painted over the original red paint with an amateur camo pattern, so I decided to do it up as an M38 in WW2 OD. It has always run like a swiss watch. Sheet metal is all original and it is still 6-volt. I installed lock-out hubs, but have the originals. It is a very early CJ-3A, as it has the Dana 41 rear axle, and the windshield is dated Dec. 48. If you are looking for a nice original solid flat-fender, this is it! This is no cobbled-up rust-bucket resurrection like most you see for sale. I have a spare transmission/transfer case and front & rear differentials from a 1952 M38A1, all excellent, which I will include. I dearly hate to part with this Jeep, but we are moving and I will not have storage for it. This is an outstanding early Jeep and a rare opportunity. The CJ-3A is the rarest early model Jeep with only about 100,000 ever made. I will not entertain any low-ball offers, so please don’t waste your time or mine.”
“1946 Willys CJ-2A with WWII GPW/MB grille and painted as WWII Army Jeep. Great patina, almost Rat Rod-like! Great for parades, reenactments, and just running around town. Tons of extra parts including stock CJ grille and headlights. Runs, drives, steers stops great! Flathead 4 cylinder. 3 speed manual trans. 4WD works great with lockout hubs. No rear seat. Includes spare and gas can too. Military NDT style tires. Over $4000 invested. Carburetor just rebuilt. New gas tank. Tie rods just rebuilt. Trans and transfer case recently rebuilt. Clear Iowa title. Fully licensed and street legal. Serious inquiries only. Must sell. No low-ball offers please.”
“I had long wanted a Jeep MB like the one I used during the Korean war. I have restored several vehicles through the years and in 1994 I began searching for a Jeep to restore. Turns out these Jeeps are quite rare, and even those few I found were never exactly equipped like that Jeep. At that point I decided the only way to duplicate that Jeep was to build one. I started with two parts Jeeps (a non-titled 1945 and a titled 1946) and went about testing the condition of components, disassembling the parts, cleaning and painting and listing those items I still needed. All original Willy’s engine and running gear are retained. The bodies of my donor Jeeps were fairly rough and the decision was made to fit it with an exact duplicate, all steel reproduction Jeep MB body. It is absolutely rust free. This Jeep is Michigan titled as a 1946 Jeep.
Looks solid. The steps have been repaired on this militarized 2A.
“Reconditioned, all repairs done, new paint, break lines, windshield frame and glass, ball joints, starter, steering wheel, fuel pump, rebuilt carburetor, and more. Licensed in NC. “
Looks like a solid project that just needs some wiring and a few other details.
“This is a 1946 CJ-2A Willys Jeep that was restored as a WW II Army jeep. It is an unfinished project. No serious rust or damage. Looks nice, great for parades or re-enactments. For more photos and details, go to www.vintagemilitaryvehicles.com“
“Beautiful 1948 Willys Military Jeep for sale. Heres the scoop: My father was a Vet and restored Willys. He sold his restored jeeps for $20-$22k. He started working on this Willy but he passed away suddenly and never completely restored this Jeep. It is running, has a clean title…You can come by to see it and start it up if you are interested. Thanks, Michelle”
