This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This is a classic!! The first year they made 4 wheel drive for the wagon. It has an overdrive and gets up to 55MPH. Great in sand and snow. It is all original with exception of rear and front directional lights. Needs nothing. Lots of fun. Bought a 1988 Grand Wagoneer so I am not using this one anymore.”

“Lucy is a beautifully restored 1961 Willy’s CJ6 – Complete body off. Motor, Trans, 4wd and pretty ,much everything has been rebuilt. Brakes have been updated to front discs with a dual reservoir master cylinder. All work was done by professional mechanics, body shop, etc. Completely rewire, new glass, brand new period tire. Rims are armor plated for chip resistance. 280 miles since restoration.”

“I am on the fence about posting my favorite vehicle ever…….but its time for me to move on to other things. She’s still running a 6-volt generator system, she has the original style flat head 4 cylinder, T-90 transmission, Dana 18 transfer case with an overdrive, and I also have a pto to go with her just the gear box that attaches to the transfer case and a original style top bows and door frames. Just need to have the original canvas top made.”

Early post war production with column shift and Rear Drum PTO. 1000 miles on motor rebuild and 4wd is completely operational. Great on road and off road vehicle. Much cheaper alternative then buying an expensive polaris. Great for a lake community. New seats and correct wheel and body color for production time. Travis spotted this rare Hurst Jeepster Commando model. However, it looks like this one has added gauges in the middle of the dash. (This video shows a stock dash, though the Hurst Badge on the hood appears incorrect). Here are some black and white photos of a HJC.

“1971 Jeep jeepster hurst wagon. #99 out of 103 produced. This vehicle was built on the last-run of Hurst Jeepsters. Rebuilt V6 225 engine, new timing chain, distributor, water pump, gas tank and sender, new tires and brakes, hoses with correct dauntless engine decals. Has rare special sales order plate. New interior, headliner, seat covers and paint. Recent paint and chrome, stripes and freshly painted engine compartment, undercoated body. NOS owner’s and repair manual. 74,125 original miles.”

(08/16/2017) “finally came to terms with myself. found this 15 yrs ago in a garage in Clifton nj. cleaned it up. new brakes clean fuel system.drove around the block a few times. put back in the barn and now its up for sale. needs some work.has some small rust holes nothing bigger than a quarter.
has original seats still. no top but have the frame for it. please only call if you want to buy it. and if you you know what it is.
