Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. How about this unusual CJ.
“This is a custom built 46 Willys CJ 2a. has a 46 Ford Cab custom built into the body. Engine is completely rebuilt. new brakes. New clutch, new master cyl. This is a very unique willlys that was custom built 20 years ago. It has been driven appx 1000 miles since built. One of a kind !!”

This was auctioned off on Saturday, November 7th. It has some interesting modifications. The jeep was owned and auctioned by the city of Tulsa.

“not every one has a 46 jeep frame with a model-A body , hand made fiberglass body, hi- low range 4X4 , front hubs, in & out lock, 4 cyl flat head , single throte carb , electric fuel pump, great heater, electric engine fan, 12 volts system , with alternator – reg. built in,”
UPDATE II: This *might* have evolved into a scam. The seller agreed to sell to one buyer and provided directions to get the vehicle, but now is avoiding the buyer’s calls.

Here is an odd one I spotted on Facebook. It reminds me of Bob’s odd Jeepster-like vehicle.
“This is a very strange “Jeep like” vehicle that is not a Jeep. I was told that it was possibly a specialty vehicle built in the 60s and that it originally had a 4 or 6 cylinder engine that the previous salvage yard owner removed and sold. 2 wheel drive. No seats or top frame. It has full length curved metal running board fenders that Jeeps never had. It also has a center console that housed the shifter. It was originally painted a coral pink color so the possibility exists that it was a resort shuttle vehicle. It is NOT, repeat NOT, a Jeep Surrey model! They look nothing like this “thing”. No engine or transmission. I saved it from a salvage yard over 10 years ago. It has 14 inch “A.J. Foyt” mag wheels that probably are original. Rusty but restorable. Buy it for $900 firm, fix it up, and have the only one out there.”

Here’s an unusual build.
“Beautiful Rat Rod . One of Kind. Has Won Everywhere it Shows. It took Best in Class at the AUTO RAMA and Street Achievement Traditional Vehicle in Dallas Texas 2013. I have acquired over a 100 beautiful trophies. Drive It anywhere and crowds gather! Everyone ask to take photos. 1959 Willys Pickup \ 383 Stroker 8.5 compression with 671 Blower Shop Blower. Motor has less then 500 miles on it. all the Papers on the motor including the cam card. Coupled to a 350 automatic trans. It has been Chopped 6″ ,Channeled 7″, Stretched 12″ . Bagged on the Front and Air shocks on the back for the perfect ride hight and comfort. OTHER FEATURES; Train Horn, Hand made Tilt Steering, Sun Roof with Rag top, Electric exhaust Cut Outs. Redesigned Tractor Trailer Wheels I HAVE EVERY RECEIPT SPENT ON THE TRUCK. I have built a few and this has been a favorite. Feel free ask any questions. Thank you.”

This has the short nose, so it’s most likely a pre-1972. It’s an odd one!
“The car is a clean example of a self assembled woody wagon. this is a one of a kind model .I am not the original owner , it was purchased in 2013 in Pembervlle Ohio. The body work was done by a retired highway patrol officer. that had a lot of time on his hands. I would like any interested buyer to inspect the vehicle before purchase”

Lots of custom work.
“custom built frame 11/2X3 square tubing zed for low ride, mustang II frt end extended with coilover shocks on frt and rear, 4 bar link rear, 250 chevy with offenhauser intake and new exhaust, alt, HEI dist, a lot of cool custom parts with roll cage, 200 r4 tranny and chevelle rear end, New drive shaft etc. Erwin lettering ,gages, drives and rides great chrome springs go with jeep. Make me a reasonable offer, the complete build is not even 6 months old. I want a trike so need to sale. A lot of custom fabrication.”
