About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
There may be some value here. According to a reader, “It was owned by his grandfather and left outside. Tub is gone but he doesn’t state how gone. A new front floor plan my be all it needs. Don’t know if it is locked up or not. No title.”

“1955 Willys Jeep P/U 4×4. This is a NO – RESERVE auction
This is a GREAT looking, GREAT running, one owner Calif. Truck (I have orig. Calif Lic. Plates) . Body off restore in 2005 when the Edelbrock fuel injection, electronic ignition, and new heads were added to the older small block Chevy V-8. Entirely rewired and converted to 12 volt w/ two fuse blocks. All gauges are orig. and function except for the mileage counter. Gas gauge reads full until ¼ , think it could use a new sending unit in the tank. Has Warn locking hubs and Warn overdrive. Has vintage driving lights, spot light, and manual switch back-up lights, ( back-up lights not available from factory). The side and rear glass is smoke tinted (not film), all glass and rubber is new.. Comes with original MILITARY stamped 16” Firestones and chrome beauty rings. Has GI gas can w/carrier, shovel and ax w/mount and spare tire w/carrier. It had, an has NO rust, dents. The plaque on the side is magnetic and never stayed on the truck except for shows and parades. It could use new rear seal, (leaves a few drips on the garage floor after driving). Have original owners manual, purchase order, sales contract, and steel owners vin tag for safe keeping. I have an appraisal from 2006 of $20,000. Getting older and just don’t drive much anymore since moving to Missouri in 2006, also have no-one to pass it on to…”
This doesn’t run, but the body appears to have potential.
“M38A1 Willy’s Jeep, project vehicle, has no title, has good vin with bill of sale. Body is in restorable condition, has a few dings and dents and a little rust in the floor, overall pretty solid. Currently it is not running, it is missing the gauge cluster and drive shafts. Has good tires and tow bar, it flat tows nice and would make someone a great project jeep. Located in Witts Springs, AR.”
(01/05/2012) “Green 1948 Willy’s Jeep, runs good, great tires, no rust, come take test drive. 2750 or best offer. Email with any questions. Can send more pictures.”
You might remember that Ann and I looked at this MB a couple weeks ago. Brian has decided to sell this running MB, a barn find parked several years ago after the death of its owner. Unfortunately, Brian and his friend Art, who located the jeep, were unsuccessful at locating the paperwork, so it’s being sold with a bill of sale. As you can see from the pictures, this is a good restoration candidate. Though Brian got the engine running, he has only driven it forward and backwards a few feet as he hasn’t inspected the differentials (You just never know, he said, so better to be safe).
The seller wants local buyers, but you never know. It sure looks like a good restoration project.
