About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Still has the column shift. The floors look solid in the photo. CJ-2A #15775.
“Early 46 jeep willys with rare Column shift.numbers on tub match the frame and have title.everything is all originaland it is so early that it has a military surplus engine.it does run and drive but needs a little tlc.I converted the 6 V system to a 12 V system but I still have all the original 6 V parts.$4500 or best offer.”
“body off frame restoration. All new brake system, exhaust, tires, glass, body hat channels. Original harvest tan color. 3 speed column shift. 4×4 etc. low mileage runs great. must see”
” I have a Very Nice Early 1946 Willys Jeep, Model CJ2A, in what looks to be near complete original condition. The serial number is 19824, I have the key, but no title, many of these early ones were not titled. Mileage reads 66,523 and look at the dash, un-molested condition with beautiful gauges. 4-cyl engine spins as it should, needs a 6-volt battery and the starter & solenoid installed, other than that, all engine and drive train and exhaust looks intact, 3-speed. When I got this one it did not have a starter in it, the starter in the rear and solenoid are ones I had with other Jeeps, just did not have the time to install the starter. The tub on this jeep is in need of serious repair. I think with very little work you can be driving this one around, but the tub will have to be fixed up to drive seriously. Looks like a rear seat has been put in the passenger position. Comes with 5 original 16″ wheels, tires will need replaced to drive. Has all 3 of the nice dash tags and even the serial number tag on the dash. This jeep has just sat for almost 10 years and just needs massaged back into running condition. Just a great project jeep, will provide a Colorado bill of sale. Front end is in very nice condition, just needs a tub repair or replacement. I purchased 25 of these jeeps awhile ago from a collector and realize I cannot complete them all. I am only selling them because I need the money for my daughters college, please only bid or make an offer if you can pay promptly. Local pick-up and we are located in longmont, Colorado. I can help with loading if you want to schedule transport for the Jeep. ”
“I have a Very Nice Early 1946 Willys Jeep, Model CJ2A, Complete Original Body and Frame in Beautiful Condition. The patina is priceless, body is straight, great front end, engine compartment is nice, look at all the attachments around the tub, spare tire holder, gas can holder, shovel holder, etc. Only 2 rust spots on the floor of the tub, under the compartment as shown and a small spot on the passenger floor as shown. Look at the rat rod under dash heater, the dash in near mint and un-molested, great set of gauges. All 3 original dash tags with VIN. Just a beauty of an original CJ2A body and frame.. The serial number is 18639, has all 3 dash tags with the VIN and 2 tags under the hood with the VIN. There is one last weld to make on the front frame tube as shown. Body is solid and attached to the frame. I purchased 25 of these jeeps awhile ago from a collector and realize I cannot complete them all. I am only selling them because I need the money for my daughters college, please only bid or make an offer if you can pay promptly.
It’s been changed to a floor shift, but does have a rear PTO.
“This is a very complete Very Early CJ (VEC). I have not tried to start it. The engine compartment looks very complete. It is a floor shift, but I believe was column shift originally. The body is very rough, but complete with tool indents. It has a complete Power Take Off (PTO) setup. The windshield is the very early style with square washers. I can’t find any identifiying marks on the top, but the experts on the CJ2a page think it’s a Koenig. There is NO title and I can’t find any tags on the frame or firewall identifiying the serial number. The Jeep will need to be picked up in Charleston (Cross Lanes), WV. This vehicle is being sold as-is. I bought to part out, but hate to do so since it’s such a complete Jeep. Thanks for looking.”
(01/17/2013) It looks good from this side, but no pics of the indents.
“1946 CJ2A #13241, Total Restoration to original condition after having been in the Navy in the Philippeans in 46. Column shift. Have all old parts. Odometer 2 mi. I have hauled on trailer to shows. Will consider offers.”
It’s a nice looking flattie and it’s serial number is early, but the lack of VEC details reduces the importance of its early roots.
“This is one of the first 1,000 civilian Jeeps made in 1945. Serial number is 10984, making it the 984th or 983rd Jeep made, depending on which source you read. (Some articles state the serial number began at 10,000 and others state it began with 10,001.”
I can’t tell if it is a column shift or not. 14″ brake drums?
“1946 Willy’s Jeep. Come with hardtop. Engine runs. Need tire’s and brake work. Has not been registered since the late 90’s, (use on private land). Have the pink slip. All original but over size 14 inch brake drums on all 4 wheels. Have lots of extra part that I might be willing to through in for the right deal.”
