Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This is a fine looking CJ-2A sporting a M-38 body. The rims are interesting.

I've got a friend in California that has an old firetruck he would drive to work every so often. I always thought that would be fun, but I think this firetruck would be even cooler.
"1959 Willys Jeep FC170 Forward Control fire truck. Runs good – may need some brake maintenance. 7,200 actual miles. Manual Transmission. ALL ORIGINAL! This vehicle has not been stripped. It is 100% original – even the windshield wipers! Includes Fire Extinguishers and fire blanket canister (with original fire blanket inside). Even the lights and siren are working! The headliner is begining to come down and the interior needs some work. There are no dents on the exterior.The vehicle has only been driven in local parades for the past several years."

"This is an original FC 150 (Forward Control). This is mostly complete and restorable. Original motor turns over but has very low compression in two cylinders. Includes a Manual and sales brochure. Great little off road/hunting vehicle. Wierd at first to drive because you are sitting on the front wheels. Frame/chasis is the standard 1952 jeep. One of the ewillys readers asked me about jeep trailers for sale in the northwest. A quick search yielded a particularly interesting trailer from ww2 — a signal corp trailer.

The price on this CJ-5 has dropped. There's been some good upgrades and the body appears to be in very good shape. I suspect the seller will drop the price even more to sell it.

While building my last jeep, I remember the difficulty of making the radiator fit. I believe I finally used a pinto radiator I had laying around and, fortunately, had a hood that allowed the radiator to sit just barely above the grille. With that experience in mind, I've been puzzling through how I wanted to deal with the radiator for a while.
This weekend I finally got to installing my radiator and tranny cooler. Selecting a radiator was the first challenge. I had planned to use the radiator from the CJ-5 I bought last year, but I couldn't make it fit (I ended up selling that radiator). Then I found a brand new $15 chev radiator that was pretty small off of craigslist. I purchased that radiator, but it turned out that wouldn't fit either. Finally, I broke down and purchased a 15" high and 26" wide Griffin Aluminum radiator from Doug Herbert (it was about $30 cheaper than Summit). That was the shortest radiator they sold and it fit perfect … well, almost perfectly as I had to cut into my cross member to make a little more room.

This is one of the most rusted flat fenders I think I've ever seen. Next, I noticed the rear PTO water pump, which was cool. Then I noticed the solid back — no tailgate, yet the body doesn't look like a MB/GPW. It's hard for me to believe that this jeep rusted so much while in storage.
