(02/26/2011) This has a variety of mods.
“I have this 1946 sillies rockcrawler. Jeep is street legal with a clean title. I am looking for cash, an atv or possible hunting equipment.
The jeep has a chevy 350 with holly projection, 3 row radiator, dana 44 up front with disc brakes and a 14 bolt rearend with disc brakes. The gears sit on the thicker 4:10 carriers and are 4:88 gears. Has a t18 tranny and a dana 20 twin stick transfer case. The jeep is set up for onboard air but the compressor is out at the moment. Jeep also has a ramsey pto winch and hydrolic assist steering. It is sitting on 38″ tls tires with a brand new spare. The adapter between the engine and transmission is worn at the moment as it is aluminum but it is being replaces with a steel unit as soon as I get it here. Anyone getting this jeep will have to pick it up and a trailer will be required as this is made for offroad use. A person could part this complete jeep out and make money on this. I am only leaving it up at this price for two weeks then I will be keeping it. If you have a cash offer or something else to offer the worst I can say is no thank you. I am sure I am forgetting something so if interested feel free to ask questions. I can take more pictures also. ”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $2850.

I am proud to announce that “Finding Virginia” is now for sale at CreateSpace. It has been the culmination of a year’s worth of writing and editing (and 46 years of living). Please shamelessly encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to purchase this book. Give it as a present to your spouse (really, they will enjoy it), your kids, other jeep lovers, car lovers, or whomever you know. It is also useful for filling spaces in bookshelves.
What’s the book about?
It’s about jeeps, love, the history of the jeep, love lost, the San Juan Islands, my dad’s health fight, how to get kicked out of college, how to grow up in a jeep club, how not to sail, how to get stuck in the woods, cooking, my thoughts on a variety of subjects, and the reasons why I started eWillys.
Who’s the target audience?
Readers of eWillys are first and foremost the target. People who like adventure and travel should enjoy it too. Women especially enjoy the ‘love’ story aspect. People who are frustrated with the economy will, I believe, relate to my frustrations with it too.
The book can be ordered through CreateSpace and, later, through Amazon, though Amazon pays me less. The price is $18.39. If you want a signed copy, I will need to order some books, sign them and then mail them to you. You can email me for more info — d@ewillys.com and put “signed copy” in the subject line. These will cost a little more due to the cost of me shipping to you. I will take a check or paypal as payment.
I am willing to both sign books and attend signings. I can even bring Biscuit if necessary, depending on the weather and distance.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
Dan spotted this stock Wagon with low mileage.
“Extremely rare and impossible to find in this condition. This was my dad’s Willy’s and he has had it parked since December of 1982 covered and taking shelter in a barn in rural western Nebraska.
Super Hurricane 6 Cylinder, 3 Speed Manual Trans, 2 Stick transfer case, 50K original miles.
We made sure the motor was not sized up, but that’s as far as we got. I don’t know if it runs, but we hooked a battery up and all the lights seem to work right. The brakes are not working either. It will need to be transported to your location.
I acquired it from him with the thoughts of a 4 cylinder diesel conversion, as I own and operate a diesel repair shop near Omaha, Nebraska. We have continued to store the wagon here at my shop for the past couple years and I have lost interest in the project.
there is virtually no rust on the body and very minimal surface rust on parts of the undercarriage. This is about as clean as they come for a 62, but its not perfect. Its a 50 year old truck that has been sitting for almost 30 years.
I’m no expert on these units, so if you have any specific questions – please give me a call or send me an email. I have more pictures, but these are the best ones I have at the moment.”
Bill spotted these rims. They look in excellent condition.
“I have a set of 4 15×10 wheels that came off of a Ford 4×4. I am told they will fit Dodge and Jeep also. if this add is still up I still have the wheels! you can email or call me @ 717-342-8379”
