<– Day 21 – Apr. 9th: Day 2 at Disneyland | OVERVIEW | Day 23 – Apr. 11th: Vintage Cars and Campers –>
On Thursday we drove down to meet a friend of my mothers and her husband on Balboa Island.
They took us out to Ruby’s on Balboa pier:
Even we couldn’t pull of this photo. It’s from this magazine: http://newportbeachmagazine.com/taste-of-the-town/
We gorged ourselves on hamburgers, fries and chocolate shakes. The best part of the day was getting some of the down low information on my mother from her longtime friend. And, as Mom reads that previous sentence, she is wondering just what Karen told me . . . lol

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $11,900
The seller notes this belonged to Dick Cepek.
“1946 Willys Jeep
I purchased this jeep from the president of the Dick Cepek Company
at a four wheel drive show in Los Angeles in 1983. He told me it had
belonged to Dick Cepek before it was converted. It is currently not
registered and hasn’t been since 2003 , the title is clean. It runs great.
V6 engine Hurst transmission
Email with any questions or if you want more pictures.”
This jeep appears to have a replacement body. I like the hardtop/doors setup. I don’t recognize it.
“I have a 1953 Willys Jeep with a snow plow for sale. Fiberglass top, roll bar, lock out hubs, engine heater, 2000cc Ford motor. Three speed with high and low gears plus power take off. Used it this winter to push the snow”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500.
John spotted this great deal. Note the ‘newer’ gauge cluster in the dash. Has toyota motor.
“1948 Willys CJ2A serial number 187738 with early Jeep-A-Trench option including a partial of the well pulling attachment to go with it. It also has a Sneker Snow plow mount (no blade).
The Good:
1) Jeep is incredibly solid top and bottom…. all hat channels are perfect and tool box is perfect.
2) trencher is complete and functioning
3) jeep has an original issued title that is clean (pretty cool as the vehicle type is listed as “ditch digger”
4) jeep has known history.
The Bad:
1) Although the body has no rust, it has had several mods. trimmed here, there, and everywhere.
2) non running Toyota engine installed (the rest of drive train is original)
Asking $1500″
UPDATE: Was $3750. **SOLD**
Not the best pics, but appears to be worth a look.
“Classic old Jeep. All original except converted to 12v. Runs great a real blast to drive. Has tow bar & wired for tow lights. Leaks a little GO90.”
This has an interesting history. I’m not sure how it ended up with a Nevada title though.
“I can’t find any information on this Jeep. It has the Willys Hurricane 2.2 L W/2 speed powerglide automatic. I purchased this jeep many years ago and was told by the previous owner that it was a security vehicle for the university of Washington. Body is great. It needs a total restore. All original except the seats. Has not been started in years. I was going to restore for my gran daughter . But ran out of energy. I don’t know the value of it, so i’m taking offers. Have clean Navada title.”
Update: sold quickly. Was listed at $1500.
Motor rebuilt, but not put back in. Looks promising.
