Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. perfect body, no rust anywhere. New od paint.
done as a military tribute complete with invasion star on the hood.
Needs nothing but a new home.”
In 2010, Chris commented that a retired Ford Mechanic in Rancho Cordova, CA, built about 40 flatfenders. I believe he’s responsible for a variety of jeeps I call the “California Modded” jeeps. They often have an expanded windshield, implement a Muller Top, and have a lip added on the rear wheel wells.
Does anyone know the name of this mechanic or have any other information about him?

There was a retired Ford mechanic in Rancho Cordova, Ca. that was building flatfenders for a while as a hobby. Back in the early 90′s he had built closed to 40. When he picked up a willys that didn’t have a a good windshield,the large windshield is what he put on. He has since passed away.

“1947 all aluminum jeep willies. Zero rust. It runs, when put on jumper. This would be an excellent project for someone that wants to go through a old awesome jeep. Interior is mint. Original engine and drivetrain.it is a 5 speed. I am open to just about any trade just let me know!!”

Lots of mods. The ad includes pics of the restoration.
“The owner purchased this Jeep in 2012 with the hope of enjoying this classic car. It was already restored when he purchased it. He always kept it garaged and maintained, but unfortunately didn’t use it as much as he thought he would. It now needs a new home.”

“Restored Willys Jeep cj3a. Has a Ford – 289 V8 engine, dual exhaust.
Color is tan, with black seats. Sold as is. Odometer reads 1,300, but that is not correct. Still registered in Oregon where I bought it, but vehicle located in Carlsbad along with “clear” Title.“

“I purchased this Jeep in 1991 when I found it. It was being used by a developer to get his clients to property that could not be reached by normal transportation. The Jeep has a full meyers hardtop and doors with the ambulance style rear hatch. It is also equipped with a 304 V8 with a T-18 4 speed granny 1st gear and a model Dana 20 transfer case paired with a Dana 44 rear axel. The Jeep had 47,000 miles when I purchased it, as it sits now it has 81,380 miles. The Jeep has never had any rust on it at all. As far as upgrades, it only has a 2.5″ lift and mastercraft seats along with a set of centerline hellcat wheels and nitto M/T tires. We upgraded the ignition system to electronic and put a intake & 4 barrel carb on it. It has headers with dual exhaust matched with flowmaster mufflers. The paint color is from a 1995 wrangler and is called Moss Green, this Jeep has been garage kept since 1991. Along with the Meyers hartop, this jeep is equipped with the 304 V8 and T-18 being 1 of 131 built.”
