About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

“I am looking to sell my project vehicle, I no longer have the time to finish it myself. 1949 Willys CJ3A rolling chasis. Engine was rebuilt in 2004. Transmission, transfer case, and axils were rebuilt in the 1990s. Many extra parts including; transmission, alternator, air filter assembly, gas tank, and spare tire. The jeep has a new 3 inch lift by Rancho including new springs and shocks. Frame is rust free and has been painted. Sorry, there is no body, it was completely shot.”
(01/22/2011) This is a project. This seller also has a 1948 CJ-2A for sale.
“1948-49 CJ-3A Willys – $1200 (OBO Elk River) Here is a decent starting point for someone interested in building a vintage Willy’s Flat Fender Jeep with V6 power.
This CJ model featured the one piece style windshield which followed the CJ-2A. One photo below shows what it looked like when we got it. The baja tires/rims have been traded off for the traditional slotted 16” rims.
This jeep originally came from Washington State. We received this Willy’s CJ3A in trade. There is no title. There is bill of sale from the previous owner and you would receive that copy and a new one for this sale.
The previous owner acquired this with an odd fire 231 Dauntless V6 (included) & intended to repower it with a newer rebuilt Buick V6 (also included). The price includes both V6’s. The Advance Adapters V6 to T-90 transmission adapter & what appears to be the correct aluminum bell housing are included.
Transmission is a T-90 A-1 Borg Warner, mated to Spicer transfer case, front axle is Spicer 25 and rear axle is whatever original came in 48. Included are both drive shafts and a spare rear axle. I did not open the transmission or transfer case.
The frame was modified by the previous owner in the following ways: a custom front bumper was added, front frame reinforced and designed to accept a winch. A later, manual style, Saginaw steering box is mounted and works fine, V6 motor mounts are welded in as are repositioned radiator and battery mounts.
1972 era Jeep 11” brakes are fitted on the front axle, standard ones are on the back. I replaced the brake cylinders and shoes with new parts and the brake lines on the axles are new. I did not have any drum work done.
When I received it, I removed the tub, sand blasted the frame, painted it with Valspar Farm & Implement Black paint intended as a primer. I’ve worked some on the fenders, grill and hood. Seat frames & gas tank were repainted. The tub is rather rough but workable for someone who knows what they are doing.
We are moving and we need to reduce our number of vintage Willy’s projects. I can also provide you with a Photo CD of every picture I’ve taken regarding what work I’ve done so far.
I also have a complete, mostly original, restoration ready 1948 CJ2A with 12 volt conversion for sale.”
Did you know that Willys Overland introduced the CJ-3A in 1949 and then introduced the CJ-2A the next year? That’s a surprise to me, too …. At least they did well with the rest of the history. It is a good looking jeep.

There are many more upgrades – too many to list!, The Willys CJ (later Jeep CJ) is a public version of the famous Willys Military Jeep from World War II. The first CJ prototype (the Willys CJ-2) was introduced in 1944 by Willys, and the same basic vehicle stayed in production through seven variants and three corporate parents until 1986. A variant of the CJ is still in production today under license. The last CJs, the CJ-7 and CJ-8, were replaced in 1987 by the Jeep Wrangler., The Willys-Overland CJ-3A was introduced in 1949, and replaced the CJ-2A by the next year. It featured a one-piece windshield with a vent as well as wipers at the bottom, and a beefed up suspension to accommodate the various agricultural implements that were being built for the vehicle.”
This has seen some changes. That looks like a MB windshield.

This flattie was featured in JP Magazine back in November, 2001. (I tried to find a link, but couldn’t)
“Humm, this 61 yr. old Jeep has worn out another owner. I’ve been foolin around with this flatfender for 20+ years. My how time flies when your having fun. This is a fun vehicle but it’s time for me to let it go.
This turn key 3a bodied JEEP has been trail proven, is simple, solid and reliable. Very capable of traversing some noteable Jeep trails as is. With four wheel hubs it is set up for flat towing, so no trailer needed. I have flat towed it thousands of miles. And it is light enough (under 3500#’s)to tow with a V6 car/SUV/truck. It was a featured vehicle in JP magazine back in Nov,’01. it’s still featured in their online website. It has been modified since in the magazine article. Many detail items changed, many CJ5 parts, a v6 motor, better axles and suspension plus more. Lot’s of information on the cardomain link below. Email me for even more info or photos. I know ever nut and bolt on this rig and have reciepts and a build sheet for reference. offered for sale @ $8500. More photos and information @ http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2174452/1950-willys-cj”
