This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have a 67 here with the odd fire v6 that runs. The frame is pretty good, i didn’t find soft spots in it but it got lots of surface rust. The rear springs are wrong, 2 owners ago got fronts and stuffed them in the rear all wrong. I have had the vin verification done and it is registered in NH. I dont have the title. The brakes are bad and the body is a bit rough. It shifts well. I havent had the engine fired in a while because the battery cables are junk but if you’re serious about it we can get it to fire up I’m sure. It eill have good usable tires on it. Make me a good offer and come get it.”

“1966 Willys Jeep CJ6 Clean title Buick v6 New Headman headers and turbo mufflers 3 speed Cooling and charging systems work great Headlights work Have to crank it over a bit to get fuel in the carb, but the new fuel pump will be here on 7/5 No rot, the salt has spared this one Right rear quarter is riveted on Floor panels are missing Has new brakes, master, drums, cyl Block has jb weld patch but no leaks -Distributor clicks, sounds like upper end but if you put your hand on the distributor you can tell that’s where it’s coming from. Once warmed up there is a tick coming from somewhere lower but actually runs pretty decent. No problems spinning tires, one wheel burnout champion. Tires are a little stiff. If your looking for a show jeep id move along, this isn’t the droid your looking for. We use it to run around the farm and cruise. It’s not scared of beer cans and being a cj6 it holds even more. Just clearing out the barn and have to many projects. Trade for 3/4 wheeler”

It’s nearly 100% stock and original. I removed the smog pump and tubing but still have it in a box This is the perfect candidate for full restoration or classy resto mod project. Original Rochester 2G carb rebuilt with brass float.

“If you know what a CJ-6 is, then I’ve already got your attention. If not, look them up. They are quite rare, and are the grandfather to the CJ8 and the modern day Wrangler Unlimited. This is the last model year for domestic sales and was part of the transitional period from Willys parts over to AMC parts. As such, some cosmetic parts are one year specific and are nearly impossible to find.. nearly.. time and money was all it took. Gave up counting receipts a long time ago. Nobody would have spent that much money on it, unless they considered it to be a hobby.
This Jeep came to me about 8 years ago in really rough shape. It ran and drove but needed a lot of work. Faithfully “resto-modded” with a few things still left to work out if desired. It came from the previous owner with the straight 6 258 and a 5 speed on the floor instead of three. I like the upgrade, but unfortunately don’t recall which model transmission it is. It works very well, and the upper gears allow you to “comfortably” keep up with regular traffic. It also has a custom set of dual exhaust headers and tailpipes that give it a wonderful throaty growl.
