About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
The body looks like a DJ-3A. The rear axle hubs suggest this could be a mb/gpw frame and running gear.

” This is an “ORIGINAL PERIOD GLOSSY PHOTO” of WILLYS MOTORS LEFT SIDE VIEW OF DJ-6A JEEP DESIGN TRYOUT VEHICLE NO. 475 WITH TAIL GATE BUT NO TOP, photo date – 1959. The condition is very good and measures 8″ x 10″. (SORRY BUT ANY PINKISH HAZE REFLECTION THAT YOU SEE IN MY PHOTOS ARE FROM THE TRANSPARENCY WITH MY LOGO ON IT AND “NOT IN THE PHOTO”. I will be listing more military photos in the weeks to come of tanks, trucks, jeeps, etc. if you are interested.”
Josh spotted this auction. It takes place March 22-24, 2013. This is the Jade Tint Green/Glacier White color scheme. It is too bad the engine doesn’t look in better shape.
“Jeep for sale, everyting is factory except for the motor. It has 302 V-8 with a t90 tranny (I think) with the original axles under it that have been re-done (seals replaced, checked the ‘footprint’ of the gears ect…). It needs a new radiator. This is a parts truck or a restoration.”
“1942 Willys Jeep, model D3, rare find. Told that it was the first mail truck in N.C. It needs total restoration , needing engine and transmission. etc. It a great restoration piece. It has a original metal roof and original suspension and drive axles. Two wheel drive.”
(11/24/2012) At some point this was converted to 4wd. It looks like most of the column-shift mechanism is still on the column.

“Up for sale is a very rare 1961 willys courier supposedly only 17 were made like this but don’t hold me to that ,4cyd flat head 3 speed 4×4 dual shifters most of these jeeps are right hand drive but this one was never converted and it has a factory lift don’t know if it was meant to run 35s but it is, motor runs but needs 6 volt coil and battery and the key is broken off in the switch but can start with out that have ont drive shaft but not the other, body is pretty bad but the historic significance it is worth restoring also the roll bar is out of a cj-5 so it will have to be cut to fit oh and I do have the title. Call text or email 828-736-7461 A little more if u want to try and find this u are more than welcome some people like to say oh yea my neighbor has one of those but look closely at the front finder to hood height and the over all size of the jeep the open tale gate and the window does not fold down also the entry way or kick panel there is not one from factory its not a cj-3b or a cj-3a I have done a lot of research and found out very little maybe u will have more luck”
Here are a couple different postcards of a DJ-3A Surrey towing some kind of visitor car at the Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth, MI. The Bavarian Inn is still there. I wonder what happened to the jeep?
