About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
This 1943 image shows a crowd gathered around a jeep as it carries a wounded American. There are several articles about the war with Japan in this August 23, 1943, issue of the Daily Illini, but what caught me by surprise was Northwest Airlines’ attempt to secure a direct air route from Alaska to Tokyo even almost two years before the war eventually ended, as if we weren’t at war with Japan! Talk about advanced planning.
“1943 Press Photo Military officers in amphibious jeep on New York waterway. This is an original press photo. New York – (Swim) jeeps Photo measures 10.25 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 04-20-1943.”
“1942 ford gpw script. Dates March 1942. Been in the dry in Australia. Had some extension work carried out to the rear tub. But no big deal to put back to normal. Has ww2 engine fitted”
UPDATE: I wasn’t sure on the price for this, but it seems this is the asking price for a nicely restored BRC-40 these days. More pics here: https://ibb.co/album/b7Nv1F
“This is a completely restored Bantam BRC witch is show quality. Original correct in every part. May be nicest one in existence Please send me an email for link to picture page or follow link below.
Will consider trades, offers, or just negotiate price.”
UPDATE: I wondered why the exhaust looked odd. Barney notes, the “tri-flanged tail pipe is for the fording tailpipe that would then go vertical up the back corner … but It should be clamped closer to the frame and not hanging down.”
Not perfect and not the ‘finest one still in existence’, but is a fairly solid example of a CJ-V35/U.
“For sale is the rarest of all military jeeps. The CJ-V35/U was built in early 1950 for the U.S. Marine Corps and only 1,000 units were built. This particular example is probably the finest one still in existence. It is totally solid and rust free. The original engine has been rebuilt and runs well. Brakes have been rebuilt and it has a new battery and a fresh tune up. They just don’t get any better than this one. All of this model had waterproof engine components and were set up for deep water fording. The waterproof starter, generator, and regulator are still functioning perfectly. I have 90% of the fording hardware to go with this jeep. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own the rarest and the best.”
“1948 Willys Jeep, 12volt. Original engine Runs good, brakes replaced a year ago. Needs a new home. I don’t have time to invest in it . Odometer says 34,902, but I don’t think it works. Has title, tag & is insured”
“I have a complete hardtop (windshield frame, doors, and top enclosure). Top only, jeep is not for sale. The doors have good glass, but the rest will need to be replaced. It’s in really great shape”
