About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
A reader (and my pea-sized brain can’t remember who) noticed that the front of the Overground Railroad, a book by Candace Taylor, had a Jeep Wagon on its cover. It looks to be a 1950-1951 wagon to me.
I haven’t read the book just yet, but look forward to it. The book is about 300 pages, but has at least 100 pages of photos. The reviews for it have been very good. Here’s a review from a Route 66 website.
“1950’s Oglesby Red Cast Aluminum Willy’s Jeep.
Made in Peru, IN.
All original paint and tires.
Condition is used but very nice.
Jeep measure approximately 10.5 ” in length.
Also includes Oglesby Red cast aluminum Trailer.
Very rare to find these together.

Overall both pieces in very nice condition.”
“1949 Jeep Willys for sale!!! This Jeep is the bombdiggidy!!! Perfect for hunting or putting around town. It runs! I have a clean title! Asking $4500 or best offer.”
“Finish this restoration. 1948 Willys Jeep CJ. Due to illness, cannot finish. Good body with primer coat, new gas tank, new seats, rebuilt starter, 12volt alternator. With a little TLC, this jeep will be ready to roll.”
“Lots of work done, good driver/parade truck. This is my client’s Jeep and I’ve done 99.9% of the work to it since he acquired it. He is moving in a different direction in the hobby and is putting the Jeep up for sale and since I’ve done all the work for the last 4+ years, I’m helping him sell it.
Details: Currently registered and tagged in Georgia, current owner has the title from the prior owner in Florida (Georgia will not title anything built prior to 1963). Located in Winder, Ga. Vehicle has recently been serviced with new oil and filter, all fluids checked, all zerks greased, etc. All systems on vehicle function as they should: Engine, drivetrain, 4wd, gauges, lights, parking brake, etc.
Condition: Vehicle is in very good driver or parade duty condition. Sheetmetal is above average, but not perfect. Both front fenders were wrinkled at some point and straightened. They are acceptable in their current condition but a new owner looking for show quality perfection will probably want to replace them. Tub corners, rockers, cowl and rear panel are excellent. Vehicle had a replacement floor pan installed at some point and the job was done competently. Rear panel is straight and has never had a tailgate cut in. Windshield is correct M-series Jeep (it’s an M170 ambulance Jeep model, but it’s identical to M38A1 other than two small brackets on top for stretchers) and has new glass and weatherstripping. Vehicle retains all of its original 24V system (25A generator, external regulator, blackout lights, etc.). Most of the wiring is new and retains the original Douglas connectors. The paint is older and a few spots have been touched up but overall it’s a clean and presentable vehicle. Vehicles runs very well, will maintain 50mph, transmission doesn’t pop out of 2nd gear like so many T90s, transfer works like it should, etc. Carburetor is the correct Carter YS950, etc. Continue reading →
