CJ-5 Camper Frame Dayton, OR
UPDATE: Brian bought this frame and now has it for resale. Contact him for the price
THIS INFO ABOUT THE FRAME IS FROM A March 16, 2018, ad:
“THIS IS A FRAME FROM A 1970 JEEP CJ5 CAMPER. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. I BOUGHT THE JEEP & CAMPER IN 1970 NEW IN SO. CALIF.
WE MADE A MOVE TO OREGON IN 1990 & I DISMANTLED THE CAMPER BECAUSE IT WAS LEAKING BADLY & MY THOUGHT WAS TO BUILD A NEW CAMPER ON THE FRAME. I NEVER GOT TO IT. I SOLD THE JEEP A FEW YEARS AGO & NO NEED FOR THIS FRAME.
THE CAMPER WAS MADE BY EL DORADO CAMPERS IN RIVERSIDE CALIFORNIA. THEY MADE CAMPERS FOR PICKUP TRUCKS & THIS WAS EQUAVALENT TO AN 8 FOOT PICK UP CAMPER.”
Camper before it was dismantled:
1964 M-38A1 Durango, CO $5900
This M-38A1 used to belong to the San Juan County Sheriff’s office.
https://westslope.craigslist.org/cto/d/durango-1964-kaiser-willys-m38a1/7026309174.html
“This M38A1 was owned by the San Juan County Sheriffs dept in Silverton CO for 35+ years,is part of our high mountain Colorado history. It was bought by a local in 2001 and remained in Silverton until now. I’ve watched this rig for the past 11 years and recently got my hands on it. With a family of 4, 3 dogs and a brand new house I dont know what the Hades I was thinking but at the time I had to have it. I have owned a lot of military Jeeps in the past, have had many M38A1s and know a good one when I see it.
This rig has a very nice Kelly hard top, converted to 12 volt, has the wrong seats in it but otherwise is very original and complete. There are very few “extra” holes, nothing has been hacked or cut up, body, floors, etc are extremely straight, rust free and would make an excellent restoration base or drive it as is. There is a matching spare wheel and military gas can in the back. The tool box floor is perfect as is the glove box floor. This Jeep has no real rust, is surface only, the mud is my fault, I live on a dirt road (see underside photos) The engine starts right up, no smoke, sounds good, brakes are good, shifts tight etc as you would expect with 8K miles.”
1961 Wagon Whidbey Island, WA $7500

Driven only 10 miles since work was done! The interior is not done yet but it’s serviceable and everything is there. Newer clutch, shocks, entire exhaust. Drive it away, or delivery is available. Some extra parts, and a complete second 1958 Willys also available.”

“Great winter project. Prefer to sell as a package but will separate tub. Will need to be trailered… nothing is bolted together.
– CJ2A tub… no title, new front pan
– CJ3A frame… good condition
– Roll cage
– Axles are just rollers… D25/41
– 2.5″ Rancho springs/shocks
– Tires are good… 50% tread
I have enough parts to put together a complete body.”
1946 VEC CJ-2A Coos Bay, OR $1800
It looks to be a pretty early one.
https://oregoncoast.craigslist.org/pts/d/coos-bay-1946-vec-willys-jeep-parts/7026931581.html
“I have a collection of 1946 VEC CJ2A Jeep parts for restoration or just parts. I was going to restore this but I have an aircraft restoration project that is more demanding of my time.
Parts include: Rolling chassis, (full floating rear axle), with tub, 4 like new 600×16 military NDT tires, engine, transmission/transfer case, radiator, rear driveshaft, drivers seat frame, non-VEC windshield frame, tailgate, hood, front fenders and grill.
Missing parts: Front drive shaft, exhaust system, fuel tank, VEC windshield frame, passenger seat frame and both rear axles.
The tub is interesting in that there is and opening around the steering column for the column shift linkage it also has the cover and mounting holes that look original for a floor shift. The trans I got with it is a top loader T90 floor shift.
There is the usual rust in the floors, toolbox and hat channels.”
