Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This price list came from Willys Overland Sales book. Given it mentions the Jeepster, but not a CJ-3A, my guess is that this was produced sometime in 1948.
It’s listed as a 1946, but also as a 1947. The serial number suggests it is a 1948. Looks nice.

My original plan was to put the 1948 body on the 1948 frame using the drivetrain from the samurai chassis. The 1952 remanufacture body was to be used to replace the floor and patching. Would be a killer deal for the right person.”

“I have a 1942 Ford GPW. I’ve owned it for around 18 years and it’s time for it to go. It has a flathead 6 cylinder that I’m told might be a studebaker. It ran about 2 years ago and I just topped driving it around because the brakes didn’t work. It’s currently non-op reg status with dmv. According to the data plates it was born on November 10th, 1942. Serial number 80041, which most likely puts it out of the ford plant in Richmond, Ca.”
