About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

Terry bought this running late model CJ-3B for a great price, then doubled his investment in the jeep by fixing it up and adding some fun extras like rear duallies, a hardtop, and rope (just for kicks). Despite the additions, almost none of it altered the original jeep he bought. He says the changes made the jeep popular with folks and 99% of people didn’t realize it was not a military jeep.
The other day he went into a dealership and the dealer offered to buy it. Though not planning to sell the jeep, the amount offered by the dealer, double Terry’s entire investment in the jeep, was too good to refuse, so he sold the jeep. With his new found cash, he picked up a wagon that he plans to restore. Here are a few pics of the CJ-3B.
Before his changes:
After his updates, including the purchase of a hardtop:
UPDATE II: Here are pics of the Ford Pygmy and Ford Budd to use for comparison with the jeep in the movie. To me it looks like the film makers built a custom vehicle based on the Ford Budd, which Maury points out, in the comments section below, was in Hollywood at the time.
FORD BUDD:
FORD PYGMY:
Note the differences between the two above and the “jeep” below: Angle of the steering wheel, position of the front fenders vis-a-vis the hood, length of cowl at the step, the rolled edges of the body (same as Budd, Pygmy didn’t have them), short rear handle of the Pygmy (Budd had long hand), incorrect hubs .. I wonder if that is a Bantam chassis?

ORIGINAL POST … these photos were sold on eBay: Thanks to Maury for spotting these pics from the Jeep Herders movie. There are a couple Ford GPs pictured. I’m not sure what’s going on with the side of the Ford GP. Looks like it is similar to the original Pygmy GP.
“Originally by Planet Productions, 1946, re-released by Astor Pictures in 1949. Story is returning vets use Jeeps to herd cattle.”
“This late edition CJ3B came from the Colorado Rockies several years back and has been my Driver / Workhorse. The body shows some rust but is usable as it is. The F-Head engine runs well, Jeep drives nicely, Koenig PTO Winch works well except no free spool, Exhaust needs repair from NH Trail Ride glacial obstacles.(Google it!) Has rear seat, roll bar, CB radio, extra gas tank, Bicycle Rack, tow bar and nice tires. Two tops are included, a full Best Top and a sun shade.”
“1947 Jeep Willys in better than average shape. Has been in storage under a canopy for about 15 years. It has been started and run occasionally. The body is very good and the top was recently replaced. The paint is so-so, but well covered and so the body has been protected.
3200.00 or best offer. CASH only..”
“My 1948 is quite original and has been a ball to own. Here are the details:
Body and frame have some rust, but nothing terrible. Driver floor has a patch.
I added seat belts and Chicago 9000 self-cancelling turn signals with my “home made” arrow signals. All lights work.
Speedo replaced but I have the original if you want to rebuild it.
Vacuum advance distributor replaced with a centrifugal unit. I have the original.
Go Devil engine professionally rebuilt about 600 miles ago. Have receipts. Original 6 volt system. Carter carb also rebuilt.
5 NDT tires and correct wheels are about five years old.
It’s not a show vehicle but a very fun and near original driver that could be restorable if you want to go that way. Price is firm.”

“I have a very nice original Jeep FC170 for sale. It does not have the usual rust that these trucks normally have. It is a complete truck of sorts, it has a GMC 9′ bed instead of a Jeep bed. The FC170 beds are now available as a reproduction on EBAY. This truck also has the PTO on it. 16″ tires as well. It sports the 6 cylinder engine. This would be an easy restoration. Please see my other listings for FC’s. I am moving and cannot take them with me.”
“Jeep FC150 parts truck for sale. The frame is shot, the body is shot, there are a few usable parts left on this old girl. There is an engine in pieces, a set of wheels, good pair of outside door handles, front bumper, etc. This would be good for parts only. There is also a counterweight on this truck as well. Please see my other listings for Jeep FC’s.”
