Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Here’s a good photo of the rear of a truck ready for service station duties. This was published in the May 1955 issue of Willys News.
A rainy/muddy day helped sell the benefits of this DJ-3A Dispatcher.

“1943 Ford WWII GPW Jeep
Frame Number: GPW 125688
Engine Number: GPW 12309
This GPW runs, drives and stops. And has many “F” marked parts on it. It is using a Willys head on the GPW block. You do not find a matching number frame and block like this jeep. Has lock out hubs on the front axle for smother driving.”
