UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7500
While the seller believes this is the original hardtop, according to the bottom of this 3B page the hardtop below was specifically built for civilian jeeps. It should have a tag identifying it as an “Arctic Top” and the manufacturer as Metro Engineering and Manufacturing Co. of Detroit, Michigan. The jeep sure appears solid.
“It has an original hardtop on it. It has 4 combat wheels with new 600-16 military tires. It runs and drives good and stops good. Frame and body match and motor stamped gpw. The body isn’t terrible but has a few places that could be fixed. All in all it is a nice jeep. It has a clear Missouri title. If you have any questions please call.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5000.

Archive.org has an interesting collection of Business Screen Magazines from 1944-1947. Reading through them was kind of interesting. I found a few jeeps, too.

I thought this org chart was interesting as well.
