About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
(12/6/09) For the 4wd not to work, is the front drive shaft missing?
“1952 willys jeep, 4 cylinder, Runs like a champ, fun to drive. The only thing that doesnt work is the 4 wheel drive, has very little rust. the price is $2900 OBO. Hand in the 3rd photo not included, lol …Call for more details. 706-474-2507. Thanks for looking. Lee”
(12/23/09) There’s plenty of rust lining the edges of the body.
“This is a 1960 Willys FC170 snub nose flatbed. It has a inline cast six cylinder that runs very strong with low original miles. The drive train is in good operating condition,4wd works fine. The frame has had alot of reinforcement (plated)and there is some rust of course.I have used this for hauling wood out of my property it is a beast. These are pretty rare I was told.I am selling this as-is for parts or restoration. Please feel free to call me with any questions @413-977-9684 I will post more pics as soon as i can. There is no reserve, good luck in bidding, buyer is responsible for pick-up.Bill of sale only never had a title.”
“Ramsey PT1-J Dual output single stick Power Take Off (PTO) for a Dana Spicer 18 Transfer Case (Xfer Case) connected with the drive lines and u-joints to a Koenig 8000# PTO driven winch with steel cable. Both have been drained the refilled with fresh fluid and all the grease Zerk fittings pumped full of grease.
This is a special order item for some CJ2A jeeps and is very rare to find in such good condition. The winch alone has been listed on Ebay for over a $1000. The PTO goes for over $150 for a rear output without the chain housing.
I also have a couple Dana 18 transfer cases and T-90’s if interested (not pictured) extra of course.
If you have a functioning Warn Overdrive for a Dana 18, I may be interested in trading. Also interested in other trades for equivalent valued items used for defense.”
It’s certainly not a perfect body, the outside does appear to be pretty straight and rust free.
“Willys MB $350. Not sure of the year because the tags are missing but it is definitely military because of the lack of a tailgate, storage boxes behind the rear wheelwells, ax and shovel cutouts, and the 50 cal mount on the frame (my favorite part). Tub needs a new front floor but otherwise is in great shape. Includes tub, windshield frame, hood and frame with running gear minus the engine.”
This looks like a good price on a canvas top. The price on the bows, however, seems a bit high to me, though I haven’t bought bows separate from a top.
“NEW WINTER FULL CAB CANVAS TOP PURCHASED FROM BEACHWOOD CANVAS. MADE TO ACCEPT SIDE CURTAINS, DOOR COVERS (NOT INCLUDED). REAR CURTAIN IS NON REMOVABLE. WILL FIT JEEP/WILLYS/KAISER CJ2A, CJ3A AND CJ3B. OLIVE DRAB IN COLOR. STILL HAS THAT NEW CANVAS SMELL.”
One item I often see on older jeeps are cracks, patches and general ugliness along the front 2 feet of the frame rails. Sometimes, patching simply isn’t enough and an amputation/replacement is in order.
Over at Pirate 4×4, there’s some great pics of a rebuild that were posted during 2009. Below are just a few of the many pics posted regarding this surgery. If you want/need to do this to your build, I suggest you visit the site and check it out.
The Surgeon reports, “The front frame section was kinked I think from an incident with the tow bar hitting the ground at speed. It was like that when John bought it. The frame pointed at the ground and the front shackle lay flat against the front bumper meaning no suspension. I cut the fubared frame off and built a new section and front bumper out of 2×3 box tubing.”
The patient prior to Surgery, a 1947 CJ-2A:
Here’s a closer look at the problem. Note how the frame still trends downward rather than traveling horizontal.
And, a closer look:
The front of the frame has been removed:
In this photo, you can see the new sections, build out of 2″ x 3″ square tubing that I would guess is 1/4″ thick.
As usual, the folks at the Israeli Bureau of eWillys have spotted another unusual vehicle. I *think* this is a combination of a CJ-3A body, willys truck/wagon fenders/windshield, a cj-3a hood and grille, and some creativity. But I could be wrong….
“Selling Willys jeep. Doesn’t run. Has a straight flat six cylinder motor. Comes with 4×4 rear PTO wench and welder generator. Frame is in good condition.”
“The motor runs strong with new electrical, and it only needs a rear drive shaft It is a (Project car) buyer picks up.. 450 obo the motor is a ford 240 with a holley two barrel carb.”
(10/12/09) I think I saw this in the Road Warrior Movie, lol. And yeah, it has no brakes, but, seriously, would you really be worried about hitting a tree in this?
“1954 JEEP WILLY’S, RUNS NICE, 4X4, M/T, NO BRAKES!!! HAS RUST AND A BUNCH OF HOME MADE WELDS ALL OVER BODY NEED ALOT OF WORK MAKE OFFER!!!”
“Strong running 1960 Willys 4×4. 350 engine is not the original. 4×4 is working. Straight body with no rust. Super swamper tires in great condition, nice stereo system with hidden deck.
