About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Matching set of Willys duel rear wheel axles (posi trac) off of Factory rack body Willys F.C. 170. This is probably the last set of these that you will find. I also have many other Willys parts for wagons, pickups, jeepsters, J-Series, C.J’s, Etc. Etc”
“Fun Jeep to drive, clear title, 4 wheel drive with high and low range transmission. Drive on or off road. Duallys look like is a factory option. They add roll over stability on slopes and hills, and less rutting in mud. Have owned for 25 years, I do think the miles listed is likely correct as I bought it from a golf course. Vehicle does wander some at higher speeds on road, and wipers don’t work. May have minor amount of additional miles (less than 100) when sold. NO RESERVE”
I’ve spent the past couple days working through the selective hub relationships between Free-Lock (Denver, CO), Dualmatic (Longmont, CO), Husky (Longmont, CO), White Manufacturing (Colorado Springs, CO), and Cutlas Tools & MFG (Vinton, IA). During that process, I ran across more information about dual wheel adapters for the jeep. I thought it might be worth listing the one’s that have been documented. Perhaps someone has more information??
1. Max Rappaport’s hubs: A patent on these hubs was filed in 1947 (awarded in 1953), making them the earliest known hubs. Max Rapportaport was the President of Northwestern Auto Parts Company (aka NAPCO).
Here is an example of them:
This December 1947 NAPCO ad promoted the hubs:
This July 1948 Popular Mechanics ad might be advertising the same dual wheels, but rebranded as “Du All” Converters. The design looks very similar to the Rapport models:
2. Welliver Jeep Dual Adapters No. 3000: These adapters were available by 1949 and sold by the Welliver Machine Shop. This April 1949 ad from Popular Mechanics provides a documented date.
Thanks to Stefano Oddo, we have this brochure regarding these adapters:
3. Hickey Dual Adapters: Vic Hickey developed his higher compression head, giving jeeps a power upgrade option. Then, he designed a set of dual wheel adapters. The first documentation I could find on his adapters was this July 1952 article in Popular Science about his hubs.
Seller has two FC-170s for sale. The Busy Bee FC is the dually. Neither have titles. Both run and drive and seller indicates he has spent $8k on mechanicals on both. The bodies aren’t perfect. Seller planned to get bonded titles, but has decided to sell them instead. Contact seller via schuh1us@hbci.com. Seller also has an M-38 for sale.
Thank Craig for this find. If this has the hard-to-find-dually adapters, it’s a good price.
“1953 Willys pickup truck. Great restoration project or Hot Rod. Frame mostly good, one cross member needs to be replaced (I’ve found one on Ebay for less than $100). Cab floors need to be replaced. Cowl and cab corners in good condition. Engine was replaced some time ago with a Buick Dauntless 6. Engine does fire. Fuel lines no good, so only put fuel in carb to get it to fire. Bed in ok condition, but needs a lot of work. I bought this for parts for another one I’ve been rebuilding, but didn’t need anything off from it. It has a dual rear wheel kit. No title, bill of sale only.
Scammers need not reply. CASH only from your hand to mine. NO SHIPPING or third party deals”

This was just listed over at jeeptruck.com. I think the seller is a little optimistic about the price. I’m wondering if he has a title, since he isn’t sure about the year or model.
“I have restored it about 70% and I think it is a FC170DRW year 1962. I think I have the very last one. It is a stub nose dual wheeled truck. I have pictures during the restore of the body and interior. The engine and transmission are the original. It has 43000 miles on it and runs good.”
(03/27/2016) “I have a 1956 wills jeep with dual rear wheels. Engine runs and drives but knocks and needs a rebuild. Frame is not rotted. Tires hold air. Plate steel custom made from the seats back, plow frame.Interesting little jeep, perfect platform for a yard truck or project rig. I have a video of it running. Don’t need to sell it just seeing what’s out there. No low ball offers. Worth the asking price considering how unique it is. Text any time.”
Craig spotted this one. Might have some value, especially if it has dually adapters.
“Here’s something you won’t see everyday – a 1951 Willys pickup that has (we think) a 1948 Chevy dually diff with a pto powered dump bed powered by a ’50s Ford Flathead V8 engine. What a Frankenstein. We actually spent a lot of time rebuilding the carb and distributor and getting it all set up. Ran like a champ for about a minute until a valve stuck. Heads are currently off, but machined and ready to reinstall. To make it easier we got another ’50’s Ford Flathead that turns freely and ought to run that goes with it as a spare.
It’s as unusual as they get. Body is fair. This could be a great yard truck with very little work.”
