This appears to have a 3B Fiberglass Bobcat body.  It includes an overdrive.

“I’m selling my dad’s 53 Willys Jeep. It has a 327 Chevy V-8, Dana 44 rear axle, Warn overdrive, full cage, soft top with doors, new battery, newer 31″ tires, fiberglass tub, and a heater. My dad passed away last month, and due to his health he really maybe drove it 100 miles in the last 5 years. It runs and drives great. It fired right up today and i drove it with no mechanical issues. He was a mechanic by trade, so he was meticulous with his rides anyhow.”

This may be a CJ-5 chassis with a fiberglass body.

“Accepting offers on my Willys jeep. Titled as a 1962 Willys, it has a CJ2A body tub with a 3A windshield.
Body is fiberglass so no rust issues. Has a Dauntless V6 225 motor with a Saginaw 4 speed transmission.
Recent work done includes:
New wiring harness
New gauges
New taillights
All new brakes including master cylinder
New slave cylinder for the clutch
New CJ5 fuel tank converted to underside
Rebuilt carb
New DUI distributor with 10mm Livewires
New mufflers
New seatbelts
Has full soft top with doors in great condition

Fires right up, everything works. Needs a little TLC to be finished but fun to drive as-is. ”

“I have a fiberglass jeep body tub (CJ2A i think), Flat fenders, hood, windshield and roll bar. No grille. The rollbar has been mounted to the tub and removed. The windshield has been mounted to the tub and removed. It is the frame only, no glass. The only other mounting holes are in the tub for a transmission hole. I think the hood and fenders are nice never installed pieces. I am selling the whole thing as one package. I don’t have a frame or title or any other jeep parts. This is a nice Not used tub and fenders. The tub has been in the weather and is faded primer( never painted ) and the fenders are painted green but look nice. $600.00 Call or text any questions. Thanks”

Roy’s Old Jeeps and a New One

Roy Wililams shared some photos of his jeeps. The first two photos show the lightweight bobcat body Fred Weis built for Roy, the first lightweight racing Bobcat body Fred made.

This photo of Roy racing his jeep I found in a 1976 Sunfair booklet. The Sunfair was a 300 mile race near Yakima, Washington, that was first held in 1975. In 1976, Drivers met on Saturday, September 11, at 9am for tech inspection. At 10pm the drivers gathered to parade through downtown Yakima on their way to the course. Racing started at noon. Racers drove either 10 or 12 laps depending on their class. Based on the map below, it appears each lap was 23 miles.

Among the racers here is Don Bray. Roy and the Brays raced a few times over the years. Don’s son Ed shared these photos.

“selling our restored 1953 willys overland cj3a jeep. I completely went through it over the winter and have pictures and receipts to prove it. it has a fiberglas tub with a steel grill and windshield frame. here’s what was done to it:
new 31/10.50r15 tires on 70s cj rims
completely new brakes, re machined drums
new axle and pinion seals
sand blasted, rust proofed, and painted frame
new Moog shock absorbers
manual locking hubs installed

Jeep has a fiberglass tub, but  includes a rear PTO. a PTO powered mower, and a plow. The jeep runs, too.
