Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Willy’s cj2a. Fiberglass tub. New rear main seal, new gaskets in motor, new motor mounts, new oil sump in oil pan, new studs for head and intake/exhaust, new head gasket, new timing gear, rust proofed frame, new radiator, rebuilt carb, rebuilt alternator.
Also includes brand new one piece windshield and a brand new grille still in primer.
Converted to 12 volt. Needs fuel and brake lines and wiring.”

The main cage loop has a couple unusual extra loops. I’m not sure what chassis that is?

“1948 Willys Cj-2a with 5 position hydraulic lift Western snowplow. Clean title. Fiberglass cab. Newer canvas seats on old frames Spare tire and jack. Tire chains (4) (never needed the front ones) Rebuilt generator. Some parts including oil filter and extra carburetor. Plexiglass side and rear windows. Headlights and wiper works. Water in oil. Needs throwout bearing.”

(07/29/2015) It looks like there’s potential here.
“I have a willys jeep project for sale. 102″ wheel base tub stretched 4″ in doorway. Frame is fully boxed with no cracks. It is running and complete now but I will be pulling the running gear and some other stuff for another jeep project I am working on. It is currently set up with dana 60 front 3 link with panhard. The rear is 4 link. Has j 20 steering box. Current engine is a 5.3 chevy trans is a th350 with a dana 300 transfercase. It has a great custom cage front tube work and rock sliders. Just use a 70s or or 80 chevy truck as a donor and it could be back running in no time. It could be easily pun on another frame if all you want is a light body for your crawler. Could also easily convert back to leaf springs if you want it more stockish. Body is in great shape I even have all the pieces that are cut off the back wheel well if you won’t them. Great project easy to finish lots of options all wiring works great turn signals wipers heater electric fan wiring. call with questions”

“1951 Jeep Willys for sale with a rebuilt engine and new clutch.
Fiberglass body with new ragtop.
Brand new tires.
Runs and drives great.
It doesn’t have a lot of top speed because of the low gear ratio.
These jeeps were geared very low for the military. Top speed is probably about 50 mph.
