Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Several folks forwarded this one. Interesting that this has a top with side windows. It just further demonstrates that the CJ-5 and DJ-3A versions of this top were interchangeable.

“Jeep is in need of a restoration. Engine is not running. Vehicle has been stored inside for the last 60 years. Steel top with side and rear doors. Tow bar available but not attached to vehicle. Originally used as a tug to move a DC-3 into its hanger. Later used for forestry work.”

“1951 Willys M-38 jeep. It is a veteran of the Marine Corps. Has the aluminum insulated arctic top but no doors. Starts,Runs,Stops. It has a newer style F-head engine and has been converted from 24v to 12v. Has a little rust through on passenger floor board and passenger rear quarter otherwise body is in good shape for its age. Price is negotiable obo. Also interested in trades

“1953 Jeep Willys CJ3A. Title has body type as farm Jeep and model as FJ (farm Jeep ?). Still has 6 volt electrical system and pretty much original other than the aluminum radiator. Brakes and emergency brake works but it has never been down the road since I’ve owned it for 11 years. Always starts on the coldest day of the year to plow driveway maybe twice a year. Was last ran in October of last year and never had snow to use it last winter but it just started right up without charging the battery just pulled the choke and it fired. Very dependable and hydraulic plow works fine up and down, angling the blade side to side is done manually though. I would recommend towing it even though it has brakes I don’t know how well it will stop on the road it has never left my driveway in 11 years after brake system was replaced, engine rebuilt and clutch replaced.”
Bill shared this 1949 jeep that’s listed as a 2A, but appears to be a 3A. It includes a rear PTO and gearbox plus a Kelly 23-series hardtop. Note that at the bottom of the eBay ad the seller has included 5 different videos.

“New Price 1946 CJ2A column shift.Originally! REMOVED PTO AND SHAFT. Added a cane shift but has T-90 side shift tranny. Needs complete restoration or for parts. F/S $750.00 Located East of Memphis.
This was removed from a deer camp in NW Tenn. The owner said it has been at the camp since late 70s. They started to change out motors and realized front mounting plate was different and gave up on it.”
