About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“60 Horsepower “Go Devil” 4 cylinder engine and manual transmission. Excellent condition, very clean and rust free. Used in local area parades and various military events.”
I get no joy in pointing out problematic ad, but this one made me shake my head more than usual. This low mileage jeep already has a gas stain running down the side. Phrases like “Fully military spec’d” and “Very authentic” make it all the worse. Finally, it’s listed as a 1945 (to the sellers credit, it is labeled an Army Jeep Tribute), when the serial number (which the builder used as the hood number also) clearly indicates it is a 1947.
“Fully and professionally restored Jeep in excellent condition! Only driven 520 miles since completed and completely turn-key. Fully military spec’d with rear seat, jerry can, Army spec paint, military tread tires, tools and more. Fold down windshield, canvass upholstery (no top), 4×4. Rebuilt engine, runs, drives, steers and stops very well with no issues of any kind. This is a super fun vehicle that is great for display, parades, shows or Jeep events. Very authentic, southern Jeep that needs nothing but a new owner. Comes with service manual and large roll of canvass material. All reasonable offers will be considered but no trades please. Come take a look and let’s deal!”
In some of the pics the jeep has Selectro hubs and in other pics it does not.
“CJ-2A Willys Jeep restored as a US Navy Shore Patrol vehicle. New tires, battery, seat cushions, windshield, steering wheel, paint, etc. 95% restored”
The seller is upfront about this being a tribute jeep with a 2A body and frame. It looks in good shape.
“1941 WWII Willys Jeep Tribute built on a 1946 body and frame…Looks like a 1941 military vehicle…Originally built in the late 90’s; stored inside since…Frame off restoration…mechanically and cosmetically VERY nice…Runs great…Additional photos and details can be found at Island Classics and Customs; www.islandcc.net…Professional inspections are welcome and encouraged”
“Parade ready Jeep done up as a US Air Force vehicle. It is a 4×4, 3 speed w/reverse, hi/lo range. Has been converted from 6 to 12VDC with alternator. Gauges work, has windshield wiper and period heaters for driver/passenger. Has a canvas half-top and many other new parts. The original flathead four runs well, new fuel pump, currently needs exhaust work/muffler. Comes with a custom made tow-bar and vehicle cover. Currently registered with Antique plates.
VIN # CJ2A185125…………….a unique ride, and a real head turner.
I am 6’2″ and 230 lbs and don’t fit well into this Jeep, a little too tight. As far as I know, this has only been used for parades since being restored by previous owner a number of years ago, and I have only put about 25 miles on it.”
“1946 Willy’s cj2a Jeep. New rebuilt original flathead motor new accessories clutch dist. and much more. New complete stock style exhaust. I know I’m forgetting a lot. Tires are military style and in new shape. Interior is in great shape. Has 12 volt wiper motors. Many extra parts that come with it new and used. Runs down the road at a top speed of about 50mph. Great cruiser or trail rider. Four wheel drive works and hubs are are all functioning. $11500.00 obo. No scams or spam. I do not need help selling this.”
