1970 Jeepster Commando North Wales, PA eBay
This has an unusual paint job.
“This vehicle was restored by WWII veteran and used in parades when we bought it. It was meant to be a fun “driver”. We used it primarily in the mountains of Pennsylvania (Sullivan County) to ride mostly paved roads but also on dirt backroads during the summer and in “Jeep Rallys”.We have had so much fun with this one but my wife bought a newer (2011) and I’ve decided to sell this to work on my 1950 Jeepster. People love it and always want their picture with it. It would also be a great Patriotic attraction for a business. The top is rarely used but fits and seals well. We are selling without reserve for much less than we have in it and hope it finds a good home for someone who appreciates it.”

No rust on frame, fiberglass body and fenders (retained steel hood, grille, windshield frame, dash and cubby under passenger seat). Has low mileage Ford 302/5.0 from mid 90s pickup and t-10 4 speed transmission adapted to Spicer 18 t-case. All have all new seals and gaskets. Runs/shifts/drives great. “’48 Willys Jeep CJ2a, Yes it’s a real Jeep, I built it!! Orig body in good shape, orig frame, some repair to front. ’74 CJ-5 Dana 30 / 44 with 4.27 gears, was told rear is a posi. Late ’80s Chevy 305 V8, ’55 SM420 trans, worn second gear synchro. ’68 Scout Dana 20 xfer case, appears to have factory twin stick, i.e. can shift into 2wd low range. Hanging brake pedal with a ’74 CJ5 dual port master cylinder. Was a daily driver through 2001, largely sat since. Started and drove it a bit a year ago. Comes with a ’79 Dana 30 narrow track CJ-7 axle with disc brakes, so you have all the parts needed for a front disc conversion; from the looks I’d get new rotors and calipers, use these for cores. Has aftermarket rear folding seat, and of course the Besttop in pics.
what it needs:
New drivers seat (have a premium racing seat brand new!)
new gas tank (have a new one in the box with new sending unit and gasket) The one in it is JC Whitney, had mis-aligned sending unit holes.
New fuel line, has a rubber line that’s OK, but exits frame real close to the exhaust.
New battery
Of course, replace brake fluid, oil etc etc.
Jeep is in Winnemucca. I can bring it to Reno, but not ’til after Burningman. Yes, this Willy’s is an old school Burner, ’96 thru ’99! (Hence the hand print paint job). Even has an original “Nevadans for Burningman” sticker!
Got a beat up Cherokee for a new project; has room for the 90 lb dog and camping gear!”
