Mike spotted this formerly cool custom wagon. It appears to have a lot of rust.

“One of a kind ex show truck. Chop top, sedan delivery, Vista Cruiser wagon roof, tubbed rear with a nine inch Ford. One very cool piece of vintage memorabilia. At one time this truck was a show winning street beast. It sat neglected for years and now needs a total redo. It has rust, especially on the passenger side fender and hood. I have a very nice hood and perfect fender to go with it. The only parts I don’t have is a decent passenger door bottom and rocker. These can be built or bought. I also have a very clean stock Willys dash for it. Continue reading
The zebra stripes look well done.

“Runs great has 18,000 miles on complete engine rebuild. Has 232 with hei and 2 barrel carb. 3 speed, Dana 300. Like new 31″ swappers. Only issues are rear break line needs replaced and transmission will fall out of reverse when you depress the clutch but shifts fine. Trade?”

Looks nice.
“Adult clothes, school books, learning material, tools, household goods. Yard tools. 48 willys jeep.”
Well, it’s not a high hood.
“Cool old “high hood” Willys. This Jeep has been nicely preserved and not abused. The body is excellent. It is very straight and solid, has all of its original parts except seats and transmission. These Jeeps have very good aftermarket coverage/support, which makes them comparatively easier to restore than other classics. The minimal upholstery and chrome plating makes their restoration comparatively affordable also. Stock 4 cylinder engine in unknown condition. I have a spare engine for it, partially disassembled. The Jeep rolls and steers. Windshield is nice. Still has original tailgate which is nice. Repainted black with gold stripe in the 70’s. Kind of has a rough and ready look to it. Kansas antique so it won’t be hard to file for a title. If you are from out of state I can help with this.
This was my wife’s baby, but she found a 1944 military Jeep she couldn’t pass up.”
A different paint job might really help this 3A.
“1951 Jeep Willys 4×4 for sale. I believe everything on jeep is original. Has 80,527 original miles with meticulous maintenance records recorded under the hood. The engine is 134 cubic inch 172 hp 4 cylinder. Top speed 45mph. Please call for more details.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $4500.
(02/09/2015) Seller bought this a few years ago and replaced a variety of items.
“Very clean Willys with 36,000 original miles, less than 100 miles in the last 12 years.
I bought this from the original owners grandson who had it parked in a garage for the past decade. Runs great. Really great compression in all cylinders. He claims that the engine was rebuilt 5000 miles ago, but he didn’t have any receipts. I have just finish getting it all together and now I need to sell it. I don’t think I have driven it more than 20 miles since all of the improvements.
Here is most of what I have done.
Rebuilt carburetor, rebuilt starter, changed to 12V from 6V, replaced almost all hoses, replace all brakes and brake cylinders including Master cylinder, complete tune up with new points and wires including valve adjustments. new battery and cables. New fuel filters and fuel hoses. New gas tank. installed a new inline fuel regulator. replaced valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket and all other drive train gaskets, new clutch pilot bushing. rebuilt steering column and more. I have pretty much rebuilt the whole thing and have tried to keep it as original as possible”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2995.
This looks like a great price.
