Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (05/25/2010) “I have a 1947 willy’s it is very unique ,it has a factory pto for farm use. yellow in color 4 x 4 It does run ,but needs brakes,it has a few dents but is not rusted out. price is firm! I have title and original bill of sale.”

(06/14/2010) Here’s a good setup.
“I pulled this complete from a rolled CJ2A but will fit a CJ2 CJ5 and others. Twin stick Spicer 18 transfer case with Spicer 18H chain drive PTO. T90 transmission, drive shafts for axles, parking brake. Big Foote Bros winch, not a little Ramsey ot Koenig winch and PTO drive shaft. The truck was running when rolled but I can’t confirm anything about condition. Being sold as a complete unit for $500 OBO 818-394-0028.”

(05/19/2010) This looks good and has a PTO, but needs some work.
“PRICE REDUCED $2500 1953 Willy’s CJ3B “High Hood” Consider trade for a enclosed trailer w/ clean appearance, tandem axle w/ side door, 7×14 Fun Jeep to drive and regret that I have to sell it. First year of the 3B! This Jeep is a small project that needs a engine and seats. The 283 is removed(it could be included but in need of repair or replacement to a similar chevrolet engine) It also needs the old seat frames recovered or replaced (through the Kaiser catalog) and a section of exhaust pipe between the rams head exhaust to muffler exchanged(from a muffler shop) The hood, grill and tailgate are repainted. I replaced the shocks and included is a new powdercoated gas tank(It is not installed) It has some original parts such as the stock vacum operated windsheild wiper motor, offset axles, transmission, transfer case and a extremely rare power take off for farming implements on the rear of the Jeep. Also the front tow bar is refabed for a 2″ ball. Handles flat tow very nicely. The soft top is in good shape with the rear section needing to be replaced(likely from a boat shop) Additional parts included are the front and rear entire axle assembly including tie rods, transmission, transfer case, and partially completed half doors. Jeep sits on 28″ wild country radials w/ aluminum rims. With a little bit of work, this could be a whole lotta fun. Great chance for someone to own a rare PTO Willys CJ3B that is a unique conversation peice. Oregon title”

This runs and has a PTO, but obviously needs some work.
“1962 Jeep CJ5 4 cylinder. This jeep was a project, due to my health issues I am no longer able to work on it, Has a PTO and parts, motor runs, but does smoke it has a new fuel pump and master cylinder, it was an AG jeep, total milage16,374, has clear title, $1,200 OBO.”

This has a front and rear PTO and is supposed to run great according to the post title.
“4cyl. 4speed, PTO winch in front and farm PTO in rear! Very little rust! Just needs fuel tank boiled and tires to be ready for the lease! Jeep is complete less the windshield frame.
Why spend thousands on asian plastic 4wheelers when for a lot less you can have American steel and a piece of history with this Korean era Army Jeep?”
Leave it to Popular Science Magazine to publish a brief reference about using a Jeep to mix cement. This article (or retro-article) was issued in the Feb 1974 edition.
