This is unusual.

With a recently rebuilt V-6, a straight, non-rust looking body and a full rollcage, the price on this looks really good.
“1958 Willys Jeep, Chrysler 231 oddfire rebuilt. $2000 OBO (not looking to trade for anything). Please Call (559) 638-2798, do not email”
A reader sent this our direction. One interesting feature is the rectangular square on the driver’s side. That’s not something standard is it? It includes an Overdrive.
“been stored original cond one repaint originally red professional overhauled original engine with original owners manual towbar 1943 army trailer avail also”
UPDATE: This was $85,000 for the whole collection. I have found some related craigslist ads. See them below.
I’ve found a couple references to the sale of this collection. Anyone know more? Based on the pic to the right, these don’t appear in great condition. My guess is that this is over priced.
Here is a link to another reference at Hemmings, where I found the pic to the right.
Here’s a link to Hemmings that reads “WILLYS: elderly WW II veteran has vintage Jeep collection, 40s-60s, both military and civilian, must sell, best offer.”

CRAIGSLIST ADS RELATED TO ABOVE:
1946 CJ-2A $4995
This one looks perfectly find. The price doesn’t seem that outrageous.
“1946 Willys C-J2A spruce green all original condition, partially restored with new canvas removable top – runs and drives – $4,995”
1948 CJ-2A $11,500
This one doesn’t look like it is in great condition. There’s no reason to think it is worth $11,500.
“1948 Willys C-J2A signal red fully restored and in great condition – $11,500– Firm”
Looks like this is street legal, too. Gotta love the 1944 frame .. I wonder what the story is behind that.
“DANA 60, CHEVROLET 350, AUTOMATIC, BM shifter, 1944 FRAME, FRONT DRIVE LINE OUT BECAUSE I GO FASTER WITHOUT IT. RACING SEATS WITH HARNESSES, TILT GLASS FRONT END, ALUM FUEL TANK IN REAR. ROLL CAGE. LITTLE WORK TO BE READY TO GO AND PLAY THIS SUMMER. This is a lot less than a quad and a lot more fun. TIMOUSHKA 503-593-3231”
This might be a pretty good price considering it includes an overdrive and a nice looking roll cage.
“1956 Willy’s Jeep updated Ford 4 cyl engine, 3 speed transmision, High/ low 4×4 teransfer case, with overdrive. brand new tires. Fun off roader”
It appears there are four levers (tranny, two tc, and either an OD or a PTO), but I can’t tell which.
“I have a 53, ideal for a parts vehicle. Four intact fenders, Hood, and straight body. Transmission lost 2nd gear, so it has been sitting for long enough to where the motor needs a rebuild too. I know it has enough parts on it to warrant the price, so i am not very flexible.
Call anytime, if i don’t answer, LEAVE A MESSAGE!! (360)320-3080. Bryan”
“THIS 1973 cj 5 JEEP WAS RECENTLY PAINTED AND FITTED WITH A NEW FUEL TANK BETWEEN THE FRAME RAILS. IT HAS A CUSTOM ROLL CAGE, BACK SEAT AND SPARE TIRE CARRIER. HAS FLAT FENDERS, NICE FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS AND ROCK SLIDERS. THE DRIVE SHAFTS ARE SOMEWHAT NEW. IT HAS DANA 44’S FRONT AND BACK WITH DETROIT LOCKERS AND 589 GEARS, THE JEEP HAS BEEN STRETCHED AND THE TUB MOVED BACK FOR A TALLER GUY LIKE MYSELF. ALSO I HAD CROSS OVER STEERING ADDED A WHILE AGO….”
Given this CJ-5 has an overdrive and the jeep has a new top, I think this is a pretty good price.
“1967 CJ5 with 225 Buick V6, 3 speed tranny, warn overdrive, danna 44 rear end, 27 front end, new best top with half doors, 2.5″ Rancho lift, 32″ wild country tires on 15×10 white spoke wheels. $2000.00 Call Josh (360) 528-1211”
I included this CJ-5 because the seller has done something interesting to the front grille. I haven’t decided whether I’m a fan of it or not, but it’s an interesting idea. The jeep itself looks great.
“1960 Willys Jeep CJ5 – 289 V8 3spd with warn overdrive. twin stick. New 4″ Rancho Lift, 2″ shackle lift, New 33″ mud tires on new chrome wheels from Les Schwab, New Brake Master Cylinder, New Clutch Slave Cylinder, New Rancho Dual Shocks and Steering Stablizer, AM/FM CD and CB, New Bestop and Bikini Top, Race Seats with Harness Belts, New Motor Mount Kit installed, New U Joints…”
