Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This was a convertible DJ-3A. There might be some useful parts left, as few of which are unique to the DJ-3A.

“Parts Jeep or make it roadworthy. It needs a total rebuild. It has sat out back for many years. Am guessing about the year. The numbers on the motor say it’s 1948. It’s a parts Jeep. There’s no title. I added pictures to show the frame needs work. But hay, it’s 71 years old”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6000.
Converted to 4WD.
“This is a 1956 Willys Jeep with an in-line 4 cylinder. It has been converted into a hunting Jeep. I have replaced the carborator. Master cylinder, ignition switch, battery and oil. The Jeep runs great, the 4×4 works well. It has a shooting chair for the back and you can see it in the pictures.”

(06/30/2019) Tom shared this oddity. This seems to be a late model DJ-3A body and windshield (design for a Koenig top) mounted on a (probably) CJ-2A chassis with a Meyer Half-top. That’s a combo I don’t think I’ve seen before.

(09/07/2019) This jeep is listed as a Surrey, but I see no evidence of it being a Surrey. Being this late of model, it should have the heater intake vent on the passenger side. But, it seems to lack that.

“For sale 1963 Willys Jeep DJ3. Has been completely disassembled, cleaned, painted, rebuilt and restored in 2013. Everything is new top side and bottom side. The original 4 cylinder 2.2l engine, 3 speed manual transmission and rear end are still in the Jeep. It runs and drives great!! Plenty of power, smooth thru the gears and a blast to drive.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $30,000.
This is the late Bruce Agan’s former surrey that is being sold by his wife. It’s about as accurate a surrey as you’ll find. I’ve seen less accurate surrey’s sell for much more. See the full story on this Surrey here.
