Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1955 Willys CJ3B, In very good condition, 4-134 F Head Motor, Arena yellow. Recently serviced which includes the following work, new rear main seal, new oil pan gasket, new timing gasket, new front crank seal, re-sealed transmission and transfer case, new rear pinion seal, new rear differential fluid, new wiper motor, new carburetor, new fuel pump, new tie rod ends, repaired emergency brake, rebuilt brake master, new transfer case yolk, new front light sockets and lights, cleaned fuel tank and re-plumbed fuel lines, new seat belts and new speedometer. Heating element is in place but not plumbed. Everything else works as it should.”

“1949 jeep willys cj3a LS SWAPPED with an manual NV4500 trans. Runs and drives needs some body work finished and rear end 4-linked. No title motor was rebuilt and all steering and suspension is from 92 wrangler. Overleaf kit. Frame off build all thing have been coated and rhino lined except outside of body for paint. The new issue of the Dispatcher Magazine has been released. Jim Allen’s article on the Jeep Creep and other prototypes in the late 1950s was very interesting (something I’ve never documented), as were the restoration articles on the Tonka Surreys and the Jeepster Convertible. As always, there’s lots of good stuff in this issue!
