About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Up for sale is a 1951 willy s Jeep CJ3A. Jeep has a Ford Pinto engine .Steering has been upgraded to a Chevy steering box . Body is straight not to much rust. Jeep was driven to this location and parked . sitting for approximately 5 years call Jerry for details Jeep sold with bill of sale”
I would not advise a buyer to buy this thinking he or she can make “big money” on it, which is what the seller states. This is listed as a 1950 and appears to be a DJ-3A Body (1956 or 1957 based on the speedo) that’s likely on a CJ-3A chassis.
“1950 DJ MILITARY KOREAN 4X4 CHASIS. FLAT FENDER WILLYS COMES WITH AND EXTRA FRONT DIFFERENTIAL. 235 V6 ENGINE WITH BELL HOUSING ADAPTER TO FIT ORIGINAL TRANNY. DOES NOT RUN BUT THIS IS THE PROJECT TO MAKE SOME BIG MONEY”

Fuel system is already installed and the Wilwood 4 wheel disc brakes are plumbed up to the master cylinder, chrome tilt column , engine is wired and almost ready to start with brand new stand alone wiring harness and computer reprogrammed too many new parts to list 99% of parts to finish, I need to sell or trade I have too many projects so this is your chance to save 1000s and 1000s of dollars I’m willing to sell or trade for other classics or muscle car,”
“I was going to restore this willy’s but currently don’t have the time. I am going to switch tire on it as i want to keep them. I am also going to toss in the 350 engine i was going to put in it along with a th350 tranny and transfer case. The tranny is an overdrive Th350. If you want it you have to pick it up along with motor and tranny. I have posted pictures on all. It needs a complete restore. The body is just sitting on frame.”
“Please read this detailed description before contacting me with questions. This a parts car or MAJOR project. This was my rock crawler up until last summer. It has a jeep CJ2A frame and body and Toyota drivetrain. 22R motor (cracked block at bellhousing connection). Five speed Toyota transmission (worked well when I parked it) and Toyota axles. Here is what is also included in addition to what’s in the pics:
Extra Toyota drivelines
Four extra, almost new, CJ2A leaf springs (two front two rear)
CJ2A Soft top
Original front seats
What is missing:
No front axle
No rear 3rd member
No transfer case
You must be able to tow it away with a flat trailer. For the right price, I’ll deliver with my trailer.
At this time I don’t want to last it out.
I just paid the non-op fee this year. It was registered until a few months ago”
The Sumer 2020 Dispatcher Magazine arrived in my mailbox this weekend. Jim Allen’s feature article on the Jeepster Commando designs was particularly interesting. I knew there were a variety, but I didn’t know there were this many!
This ad came to me from eBay and has “KW 258” printed in the lower right, which I am interpreting as February 1958 (but I could be wrong). It is more of a “use your jeeps on the farm” type of ad, which Willys Motors seemed to be going away from in the US by this time.
UPDATE: Mark found a second engine. He hopes this second one works!
Mark thought he’d found a Buick 225 V6 for his CJ-3B project, but he discovered the block has a bad cylinder. So, he’s looking for another complete engine, though even a good block will do.
You can contact him at wmdulken @ gmail.com (remove the spaces around the @). a
