Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This has three data tags, a column shift, and the indents.

This has some interesting history and an unusual revenue data tag.
“This is an early Ford GPW Jeep. Serial number 9622, Delivered on March 30, 1942. It has been sitting in a shed for the last 40 years after the owner broke the transfer case. It was a maintenance jeep at a park in its second life. I have a clear title to it. A lot of the jeep appears to be original except the engine. It looks like they switched out the basic engine, but put a lot of the military hardware back on, carb, alternator, starter, etc. The engine turns over, and the previous owner said it ran when he broke the transfer case. I do know where there is a MB engine. It has a voltage converter under the dash. The frame stamp matches the serial number. The seat pads look original. The owner said it came out of the Harrisburg, PA Army Barracks. All the parts pictured go with it.
43,000 mileage, sold as is, no warranty. Condition fair.”

“This is a military Jeep with a 24 volt system. It is all stock, complete with snorkel tube and canvas side curtains and doors. It is in good condition. Motor is free and the 4 wheel drive works fine. 4 cylinder motor and 3 speed transmission. I put a new gas tank in it, the brakes have been gone over and are good and working. It will run but needs a fuel pump and possible carb rebuild. It has two new Red Top Optima batteries and new cables. It has military tires that for a hunting vehicle are OK but for the highway need to be replaced.”

“This is a rare 1959 m274 mule, it was made by willys. It has a true NOS(new old stock) 2 cylinder engine(not a converted generator,like some)with under 8 hours on it. The transmission has just been gone through and rebuilt by a professional mule transmission specialist. Has high and low gears. It runs like new, cause it basically is. It has 4 wheel steering and a light weight magnesium deck. It has new electric starter, battery and alt, to run lights(forward and rear) and 12 volt car charger(to charge gps or cell phone). Im using a 50cal waterproof box to house the starting key, light switches, and 12 volt charger. Under the frame, next to battery is a bracket that holds 2 like new 50 cal boxes. Mules only came with one drivers seat so I added a second seat and basket. Has metal canister holding bracket for water or fuel container. Brand new tires, new stainless steel gas tank. Seats are not original, they are the more comfortable, adjustable(seat slides forward and back wards to fit a tall or short driver) high-back military m35 seats that have been reupholstered. It has half inch rubber mat on top of the deck to keep paint from getting scratched or chipped. It has a black water proof box under the deck-next to the battery that holds all the electrical connections and keeps them safe and dry.Has a new data plate. This mule is in great shape. I built it for myself to keep, but I’m moving and have no safe place to keep it. There are not many of these machines left, and they continue to increase there value every year.”

This CJ-5 looks like it has a paint color similar to a DJ-3A. Nice looking CJ-5. Thanks to Dave for pointing this one out.
” I am selling my wife’s Willys Jeep CJ. She’s moved on to another 4×4. This Willys is in very good original condition and is the original color from the factory. It has not been monkeyed with much in any way. I think this Willys is as clean and straight as there is for sale out there. It has 22500 original miles and has been kept under a shed most of it’s life. It runs as it should and does not smoke or leak any fluids or burn oil. Factory inline 4 cylinder engine. It still has the original seats in it. The drivers side seat needs to be recovered. It is a three speed high low gears and 4×4 with locking hubs. All works as it should. It will climb up a tree. There are no rusty bubbles or rust holes on it anywhere. It has a pto but it was disconnected when we got it. The headlights, high low beam, tail lights and blinkers work as they should. The vin number under the hood is original and has never been messed with. There was no title with it when we bought it and sells with a bill of sale. The tailgate, chains and chain covers are still intact. The windshield can be put completely down and has a crack in it. I have the rear frame and cover and the door frames but they are dry and stiff. I have the spare tire mount, the original spare tire and wheel and the rear view mirror. When we bought it I had all the fluids from front to back changed. I had new belts, spark plugs and spark plug wires replaced in it as well. Nothing else has been needed since.

Runs and stops great, It’s a blast to drive. There are very few of these Willys Picks up survivors left.”

“1947 Willys Jeep. The body has been repaired, not perfect, but looks good and runs well. Have been 4 wheeling with no problems. Has current registration. If you are looking for a perfect show ready Jeep, this not for you. This is for fun, off roading, and just a cool vehicle to drive. I do not NEED to sell, so no trades or silly offers.

(02/22/2014) Given the new tires, there appears to be some parts value here.
“I’m selling my 1952 M38 flat fender Willy’s Jeep. I started this project a few years back and I haven’t had the time to put into it. The Jeep does not run and most of it has been disassembled. I have new military tires, rebuilt carburetor and many of the small parts have been sand blasted and primed. I have a new front bumper, new driver and passenger seat cushions and a few other new items. I do not actually know the mileage since it appears the odometer was disconnected long before I got it. I can hand turn the engine so I know it is not seized up. Some parts of the body rusted threw, most of the original wiring has been removed. You must be able to haul the vehicle.
