“This is a complete unit meaning T90, D18, overdrive and Koenig pto with winch. As far as I can tell, this is a pretty rare unit to include overdrive and PTO together. I got it for my willys wagon, but you know the story, times are tough. Not sure of internal condition, but looks to be resealed. Was in 60’s cj5 with buick motor. Will not separate. If doesn’t sale, will make it in wagon some day.”

UPDATE:  I completed the book.  There are some good stories of jeeping and others having nothing to do with jeeps.  If you like adventure and travel, or African travel, or the challenges of border crossing, give this book a read.  One favorite anecdote Andy writes about was a boss of his who at one time was Willys Overland Salesman in Africa during the 1940s.  One of his sales strategies was roll them down a hill, tip them upright, and drive them away to demonstrate how hardy they were.

I was on Amazon yesterday ordering a book called  “Jumping Fire: A Smokejumper’s Memoir of Fighting Wildfire” (which has a fascinating story about how smoke jumpers used a willys wagon).  One thing led to another and I ran across a second book called “African Wanderlust: Across Colonial Africa by Jeep”.   Never having heard of that book, I ordered it and will report on it once I read it.

This looked nice and stock and really good . . . until I saw that the body was rhino lined on the outside. Sigh.

“Jeep is a 1946 CJ2a with a Willys 4 cylinder gas flat head engine, 6 volt electrical system,3 speed manual transmission. Jeep has been totally sandblasted with a full length floor pan installed,some new sheetmetal also installed. There is no rust and very little Bondo.  New seats, new glass, shocks. Axles have not been pulled. Jeep had a spray on Rhino like finish applied. Jeep has engine noise probably tappet related. This looks solid.  The bumper is unusual.  There’s something wooden on the dash that I can’t quite see either. This may be a good price.

The truck has some dust, but otherwise looks nice.  The jeep is listed as a 1950, but I’m guessing it is more likely a CJ-2A.
