About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“1953 jeep cj2a,full fiber glass body, bobcat hood, rear dana 44 front dana 27, no motor or trans or title. Tube fenders that are well built. These are left over parts from my cj3b build that’s the reason for no title.”
(01/05/2023) This is one of Rob’s former racers. I believe that’s a Bobcat body.
“Anyone interested in getting into the short 8 class of pnw4wda racing? I’m posting this up for a buddy, it used to be our family racer for many seasons While it’s been a few seasons since it was ours, it’s had a couple upgrades, and is for the most part turn key ready for next season. Comes with a spare fiberglass body and a pile of spare parts. Engine is 500 ish horsepower mostly Brodix full roller 327,top loader side shift 4 speed manual transmission, 20 transfer case, 44 differentials front and rear Current owners have moved up to a slightly more family friendly medium rig. If interested, send me a message and I’ll get you in touch with Brad.”
UPDATE: Zac shared a Parmley that he inherited along with a document that shows some pricing and states it was designed for the 81″ chassis.

As many of you know, I am very curious about the fiberglass aftermarket bodies made for the jeep. While I’ve seen most models for sale over the years, I have yet to run across Parmley Engineering’s fiberglass body, one of the more unique ones ever created.
After wrecking his CJ-5 in the early 1970s, Californian Tom Parmley, a machinist by trade, decided to build himself a better body for his still-good chassis. He wanted the body to legally accommodate wider tires, a dash box with more room, a hood that was lower, and other features. So, he built and tested his dream body with great success. Along the way, he received so much positive feedback that he created a kit so others could easily install a Parmley body on their CJ-5 Chassis.
So far, I have only located two resources that document this body. One is the February 1974 issue of Four Wheeler Magazine, which featured a multi-page article about the new body. Additionally, at least two issues of Four Wheeler Magazine also have ads for the Parmley body kit. The other resource is a June 1975 Popular Mechanics article. The Pop-Mech article also shows off the fiberglass top he invented (at least I assume it is fiberglass).
Here are a couple publicity photos taken by Tom Parley and published in the Feb 1974 issue of Four Wheeler:
This image shows the Parmley with a top and is from Popular Mechanics. Note the top example sports Desert Dogs …
Here is a Parmley-bodied jeep on the cover of a the May 1978 issue of Four Wheeler Magazine.
This Parmley Engineering ad appeared on the back of January 1974 issue of Four Wheeler Magazine:
Bob Christy wasn’t sure what this vehicle was when he photographed it in 2008, but now we know.
This Parmely sold in 2015 and included a rare top:
“948 WILLYS CJ2A, full ground up custom build, Buick 231 V6, full custom dual exhaust with headers, full fiberglass body, 1 set of on-road/all season wheels/tires, and 1 set of 31X10.50 All Terrain wheels/tires. OVERDRIVE transmission/transfercase, power steering. Chevy bucket seats, tilt wheel, AND MUCH MORE. Has WI title and is completely street legal (working turn signals, lights, seatbelts etc.). More details/info upon request, selling for my father. RUNS EXCELLENT AND IS FAST & FUN TO DRIVE, GREAT FOR PARADES TOO. Never driven in salt/poor weather. $16,500 OBO. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY.”
This could be restored or turned into a racer. That cowl might be a little flat to property connect with a windshield (Bobcat bodies can have the problem, too .. .ask me how I know, lol). Plenty of value here.
“1947 Jeep Willy’s cj2a, 1st gen bronco frame, Dana 44 swap front and rear with. 5:89 gears Chevy motor mounts. no motor or trans. Brakes work. Comes with everything you see. Fiberglass body with original cj2a frame welded to this frame. Was built by John Witt in the 70s and raced in the southern states. I have too many projects that need funding and this was the last project to come home so sadly it needs to go. OBO WILL ONLY EXCEPT OFFERS IN PERSON. Maybe trade for a nice Honda three wheeler. Home by 5:30pm durning the week. Weekends are open.”
(06/22/2021) Given the front clip, this might be a 3B chassis, though the Parkette body is a low-hood version.
The seller is correct about Paul Parker and the body. But, I believe this is the first version of this particular style that I’ve seen. It lacks the side stripe, has fender extensions, has a little different PARKETTE design on the back, has an extra wide lip around the rear, and looks like it has a side step. Very interesting.
“Rare, rare, rare. 48/49 Willys Jeep with Parkette fiberglass body. Believed only a handful made while Paul Parker was back in Georgia. This one is a bit odd as it doesn’t have the “line” above the fender but it does have flared fenders; the Willys nose panel is original equipment. Not sure it’s on the right size frame at the moment but we do have an original Willys bare chassis on the property we can work into the deal.
Engine/trans present. Very cool project. Needs finishing. No title. Bill of sale only. If the ad is up, the Willys is available.”
