Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This has the early speedo, rear PTO, and a half cab, which appears to be a 1970s half-cab from Kelly, but I’m not a 100% sure on that.

“From what I can tell this is a Sears top. It fits my Cj2A but I’m not sure if it fits the 3A. I went with a full top so I don’t need it. It has one original door and both hinge pieces . I also have included two home made doors( they will need new glass). The home made doors are very stout.”

“1942 agra jeep tow truck, PTO winch system. It’s been sitting long time doesn’t run fully welded cab with doors tow hitch.  I have the tow bar for the back for the tow truck part. No I will not trade.”
The engine is not installed, but it does have a PTO with 2 point hitch and rear gear box, along with a Koenig half cab. Thanks to John for sharing.

“I’m selling a Willy’s Jeep with a 2-point lift and PTO original to vehicle. The jeep has a title. I bought this as a project a while back haven’t done anything with it the previous owner did quite a bit of work on it the whole entire body was sandblasted metal is in really good shape which is rare. Body is primer with Automotive primer. will not take much work to finish body. Motor is unknown Currently out of the vehicle I was told it is going to need a rebuild I have a box full of parts off the engine looks like I have everything needed. All the hydraulic lines were replaced hydraulic cylinder repacked drivetrain gone through . All by previous owner . Brand new tires were put on a couple years ago no miles on them. This Jeep also comes with a factory plow pump and half cab with doors all original will not separate must buy everything these Jeeps with the three point hitch and 540 PTO are very rare especially in this condition.”.

“Purchased new by the Janesville Wisconsin Fire Department. Originally red. Painted yellow by the Janesville Water Department. Can still see “Janesville” on the doors. Good shape for a Midwestern Jeep. Runs, drives and stops. Plow works. Rare Jeep. Jeep experts call this a holy grail Jeep because of the low production numbers. One of 461. Has the correct 8422 listed in the VIN. Low miles 25,247, although it may be 125,247, but I doubt it. Jeep is located in Fountain City Wisconsin. $10,700. Far from perfect. Where are you going to find another one? Good Title. CJ6 A.”

“Clean title, Rancho leaf springs, new battery, 3 speed manual, and body is solid. Hard top is removable. Runs and drives but the brakes have to be bled and it could use a carburetor cleaning. Brake lights don’t work but the headlights, turn signals, and horn works.”
