This looks like a rust bucket.

“1947 willys jeep thats in great shape. its orange with a black soft top. it has a 4cyl motor with no smoke. runs great. $8500 OBO call 914-474-8665”
Here’s a running CJ-2A with a fiberglass body for only $800. Sounds like a great price to me.
“I have s Jeep Willys CJ2A the odometer reads 75,000 but it could have turned over or could have been replaced. It runs good on the choke (it needs carb work) the frame seems to be in really good condition, the body is fiberglass and seems to be in okay shape there is some cracks and chips. It will run and move under its own power, the clutch doesn’t engage right probably from sitting, the transmission shifts fine all three gears and the transfer case work, but the levers are worn so it’s kind of hard to switch gears in the transfer case. It also appears to have half a 12 volt electrical system in it, meaning it starts and runs on 12 but all the lights are still 6. I have the doors to with the top and a parts CJ2A to go with it. $800 obo. Call me at (802)-223-2752”
UPDATE: Originally listed at $8000, a long time reader James bought this for less than half that price. It’s a steal! And, it includes a stainless grille, which he plans to sell as well, reducing the purchase price even more, because the previous owner threw in the original grille which James will paint and reinstall. Nicely done James!
James writes, “this is a 1946 VEC CJ-2A #18526, column shift, driver’s indents, no rust. original docs and rear glass light”
Here’s some pics he included:
Here’s more information included from the original Craigslist Ad:

Here’s a VEC with a VIN #11325.
“This is an early 46 # 11325 ( some might call it a 45). It was a column shift and somebody put it on the floor. It has military differentals, windshield hardware, steering wheel and oil filter that says (military standard) on it.. This is a running jeep that could be put on the road. All I can see it needs to be original is a driver seat and be put back to column shift. The gas tank has had a few holes plugged, and is not leaking. The body is in good shape and has very little rot for its age as you can see in the pictures.”
This is a nice looking VEC #11425.
You are bidding on a 1946 CJ2A VIN # 11425.This willys is registered as a 46 but could be a 45 due to VIn number being so low.Last vin in 45 was 11824 this is 11425 out of 1824 built that first year released to public. This willys is Michigan Yellow with sunset red rims ( no black stripe ) I bought this Willys in December and have driven it around for about 400 miles. I lost my job so now the toy has to go.My lose is your gain.”
“1958 Willy FC 150 – with Plow 4 cylinder, 3 speed manual transmission, 4 wheel drive, New Clutch, New Brakes, Rebuilt motor, Starts and runs good, Needs some wiring, Clean Title,
6 1/2 foot Plow (12v). Asking $3000 **May consider parting out for major components (i.e. cab, motor, transmission, etc) “
“This is a new jeep tub kit, all stainless, on a new frame, with a new top, it has 1978 CJ front and rear axles under it, no motor or tranny has ever been in it. The whole jeep is priced not much more than a plain steel bodykit alone. If you like flat fendered jeeps this is something special!!!!!!!!!”
It appears the rolling chassis has been thoroughly cleaned and painted. I can’t tell how much work is left on the body.
“Needs put together have all psrts call 352 895 2563 can deliver”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was listed at $1000.
Here’s an old MB with a very heavy Bebe Brother’s winch on it. Apparently, these hand crank winches were used across a variety of applications.
