This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Pretty cool old CJ3b with restored western snow plow. New hydraulics installed for plow. new AT tires, original ’60s mag wheels. Plows great. Starts and runs easy, but smokes like a chimney. Original motor with many years and miles with spare short block ready to rebuild. New paint about two years old. We’ve sold our place in the mountains, so I have no need for this cool toy any more. I am willing to trade this antique Jeep with plow for a Harley Davidson street glide, or police model electra glide or similar HD motorcycle.”

“1954 Willys Jeep, CJ3b. Has a roll bar and a tow bar. In good shape. It’s been sitting so it needs a new battery, seals for the carburator and brake lines. Had a baby, husband wouldn’t let me put a baby seat in it. :)”

I got a couple problems with this jeep. The seller claims the jeep has a “Frame Up Full Restoration”, however given the jeep has no engine or engine related parts, the use of the term full is pretty innaccurate. Clearly, there’s been no restoration from the frame downward, as the U bolts are rusted, the shocks are greasy, etc. Also, check out the roll cage; there isn’t even an attempt to place a plate underneath the fiberglass body to sandwich the body at the very least, let alone a proper attempt to tie the roll cage into the frame. A stock buick 225 engine is rated at about 150 – 160 hp, not 175hp. The paint job does look very nice and their appear to be a number of other new parts as well. The opening bid price is $3995.

Comes with 1970 Jeepster Commando with Buick Dauntless running V6 engine. You will need to buy the V6 swap kit to link the Buick V6 to the T90 transmission….”

It appears there’s been a good deal of work done on it.
“This is a early 1950’s Willys Jeep with almost complete restoration. The jeep was stripped to the frame and rebuilt from the ground up. It just needs a few things to finish (radiator,wiring,seats). This was my project 4 years ago and just do not have time to finish it. Please email me at hand@my180.net”
UPDATE: This was $85,000 for the whole collection. I have found some related craigslist ads. See them below.
I’ve found a couple references to the sale of this collection. Anyone know more? Based on the pic to the right, these don’t appear in great condition. My guess is that this is over priced.

1946 CJ-2A $4995
This one looks perfectly find. The price doesn’t seem that outrageous.
“1946 Willys C-J2A spruce green all original condition, partially restored with new canvas removable top – runs and drives – $4,995”
1948 CJ-2A $11,500
This one doesn’t look like it is in great condition. There’s no reason to think it is worth $11,500.

The seller says the winch is a PTO, but that looks like a Warn winch to me? Looks like some rust in the steps.
