The paint looks rough, but I don’t see much obvious rust. It runs as well.

(05/06/2010) This is an interesting build. I bet it was modded back in the late 60s or early 70s. How about that steering wheel or the tight corners on those roll bars.
“I have inherited my grandfathers old willys jeep and unfortunately don’t have the money to do the proper restoration on it that it deserves. It is a little more than a fixer upper but it is the entire vehicle, it was never stripped for parts. My step dad got it running a couple years ago and drove it around the yard, but it has gone back to sitting. If you have any interest in it please feel free to contact me and I’d be happy to give you any info I can and or send some more pictures. If you are local we can even meet up and I’ll show it to you in person. This is not a stock willys. My grandfather did a lot of work on it himself and in its day it was an amazing machine. Has a small block V8, fold down front window(good glass), 4×4, tow hitch, roll bar, dual exhaust, and 3 speed manual, and about 114,000 miles(i think, the old odometers only went to 99,999 and then just rolled over again). I would love to see it go to a good home and the price is negotiable, but will be carefully considered.”
Here’s a parts jeep.

I can’t remember where I ran across this photo, but I found it on my desktop waiting it’s turn to be shared with readers. I thought it was a great example of a stretched mb/gpw. I haven’t ordered the book yet, but you can find the book at Amazon here for $34.16.
