This Jeepster looks better than new!

“This 1949 Jeepster just recieved a frame off restoration to original specs. All parts have either been rebuilt, replaced, refurbished or new. The L-134 engine and overdrive have been rebuilt. There is no rust anywhere, as all damaged panels were replaced. The car is technically correct except for the steering wheel (is a 1950 model). The top cover and wood frames are all new. The tires are new Cokers and have approximately 50 miles on them. All the glass and rubber moldings are new. It has the correct Dupont Fiesta yellow color, interior is vinyl. The original mileage before the restoration is unknown. This is not a 100 point car but close. The air cleaner is an upgraded #675 model. There are vey minor issues with the fuel gage (sticking occasionally) and the horn (sticking occasionally). The car starts very easily and drives like a  Jeepster should. Bidders are welcome to have a private appraiser inspect the vehicle before the auction ends. Sale includes all reciepts, photos, manuals, extra parts.”

Year? CJ-3A Monterey, Ca $2700

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3A This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE:  Still Available

(04/01/2010) This project will require some work.  Call, don’t email.

“Willys Jeep. The Good: Complete, mostly original, flat-four. Also includes full 6-point cage, new tires, new shocks, new gas tank and lines, and new brake lines.
The Issues: It has been sitting for a while and was in the middle of a 12-volt conversion that was never finished (no generator or alternator) when I bought it, wiring needs attention, turns over and starts, has a couple rust-out spots under the rear tail lights, quater size hole under the drivers seat in the pan, and rust in the out-rigger body braces under the body near the frame. No pink slip.

I bought it as a project and have not had the time to finish it. It had been sitting for a while prior to me buying it… I massaged the cylinders with some Marvel oil, added some fresh gas to the carb and it cranked over and it tried to run. Sputtered, puttered, but ran. Since then, I have replaced all the gas lines, cleaned the new tank (it had old gas in it), added two inline filters, new plugs, new wires, and there it sat. Thus, I know it’s not frozen and only needs minor tweaking to run.

Located in Monterey. $2700 CASH. No checks. No shipping to Paraguay. No crap. Calls only. No emails. Thanks, Ross. 8three1-5nine6-64five9. Delivery possible.”

My Build: Adding a Rear View Mirror

• CATEGORIES: Biscuit This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

I’ve been meaning to add a rear view mirror to the Biscuit.  A couple months ago I pulled a rear view mirror off an old Dodge truck at a salvage yard;  I specifically searched for a rear view mirror that could be bolted onto the jeep. I knew there were times that I would want to have a rear view mirror without the windshield, so connecting it to the windshield wasn’t an option.  Also, from past experience, I knew that the windshield flexes at highway speeds a bit, so it would shake a little less connected to the roll bar.

So, last weekend I took a small piece of flat steel and welded it onto a piece of tube cut in half. I then drilled and tapped a hole into the rollbar.  Then all that was left was to drill a couple holes into the mini mount i built, paint it, and attach it. It’s nothing fancy, but gets the job done!
