Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The Parkette fiberglass body is an extreme rare, well made body. One of the best things about this body is that a CJ-3A windshield will properly fit it, unlike the fiberglass Bobcat body. During the 1970s, a friend of mine bought a Bobcat body, prepped it, and painted it. When he stuck on the windshield he discovered the cowl was too flat to properly seat the windshield to the cowl. To say he was angry was an understatement, because he felt he was mislead by the promises the manufacturer made.
So, after talking with the Parkette body manufacturer and getting assurances that the measurements were more accurate, he bought the body and has been happy about it ever since.
The body shownn below has had it’s rear wheel wells cut a bit. It’s got a good looking rollcage that has been attached to the frame. If this has been available when I was building biscuit, I would have started right here.

One resourceful Mitsubishi owner decided his jeep would work just fine as a crane after reading about the specs in All American Wonder Vol. III in the M-38A1 Section.

This doesn’t run. It might be a VEC. I think it might be a column shift.
“I have a 1944 willys jeep for sale 3500.00 or best offer. It has a new battery, original top, wheels, engine, and the original owners manual. Just bought a battery for it. The engine turns, but i did not try to turn it over because it needs work, just wanted to make sure it wasnt frozen. There is some rust on it, and it does need work. Would very much like to sell it to someone who has the time to restore this.”

This looks solid.
“1949 Willys Jeep, 4wd with hi/low transmission. Excellant tires and wheels, new battery, runs great and is always garaged. Has nice seats and a removable soft top. New paint and tune up last year. An excellant buy, far below actual value. I don’t drive it much and need the garage space for winter.”
This looks like a well built rig. If the body is stretched, it isn’t obvious. The front fenders and hood might have been stretched though.

This has an unusual striping motif. The last tags were in 1981, so I suspect the miles on the engine are pretty low.
“48 flat fender willys w/ roll bar and a 283 small block, new rear seal, new upholstered black leather seats. has canvas top and doors but is in fair condtion. drop down winshield, new battery, and all the lights work too…. tires are good but could use new ones in the future, its not a daily driver but it will climb a tree….. the last tags r from 1981, have clear title….it runs killer and has lots of power.”
